What a great ambassador for the “birthplace of American music.”

He’s so damn good.

And the Fabulous Superlatives!

You mean the Country Vampire?

Actually, I've never cared for him. For some reason he bugs me.

I got to know his cousin years ago. Amazing story...he was just a kid and broke into the music scene. The most amazing thing about Marty, beyond his talent, was his fascination with the music scene and his ability to recognize that there was so much artistic expression coming from those artists. His collection of music memorabilia from his involvement in the music industry is a testament to his understanding of music as art.

All that from a country boy from Philadelphia Mississippi.

I almost never sit around and listen to his albums, but I loved his TV show, and I've seen him live twice. Very good shows.

Got lucky and saw a big chunk of his country music history collection when he loaned it to the old capital in Little Rock years ago.

Can't wait to go to his Congress of Country Music Museum in Philadelphia MS if it ever gets going.

We were doing work at a house on Old Hickory Lake one day and had a very large and very heavy piece of glass to set. We're bringing it in the house and we get in to a jam trying to round the corner of these steps. Out of nowhere, Marty Stuart appears, grabs a suction cup off the ground, slaps it on the glass, and helps us pull it up around the railing. Turns out it was his house. Solid dude, imo.

I've always wanted to have a nice steak dinner and drink some bourbon with him and Vince Gill, just talk about music and the history of country music.

I never knew anything about this, pretty cool video. And a genius mind to come up with that contraption.

Hummingbyrd

Marty showing out with the White/Parsons bender. Also, Kenny Vaughn with killer Tele tone.

Leo Fender really did get it right the first time.

Me too. Reminds me of those idiots who wear hoodies and long sleeves in August. Just looking at him makes me turn the thermostat down.

Very good musician. Has written and recorded some very good songs. Much better than standard fare male country music stars of today. (And, I'm not belittling today's country stars when I say that.)

If you are speaking a bout vocal talent then Marty Robbins takes him to the woodshed. But if it is instrumental then Marty Stuart flips the table.

My point was it takes talent and guts to cover El Paso and not intended to be a slight to Robbins. The Superlatives pulled it off admirably.
