Will people travel less in 2021?

I’m not sure.
I guess cruises might be a hard sell for over 65 crowd.
Flights?
I guess pricing will sort out who flies how much for leisure travelers.
I fly about 5 times a year max.
Cancelled a May trip for a meeting.
Not sure if a July trip will be unaffected.

Depends on the deals. I can see people being enticed with lower air fares and good hotel deals.

If people have less money due to long term effects of shutdown, they will reduce travel. More driving vacations and visiting family than Disney, cruises, and Caribbean.

Travel was basically at an all time high going into this pandemic. There is 0% chance we are travelling at that level in 2021, it's just not possible. Now I don't expect it to be down 50% or anything in 2021 but it will take a few years to get back to the level we were at.

Some people will not travel for fear of disease others will not travel because of decreased income. Overall there will definitely be a decrease but who knows by how much. Those that can and want travel Will probably be able to score some good deals.

My wife and I both turned 40 this year and don’t get to do anything. We are debating going to Italy or France next summer and I’m hoping they will be begging for people to come visit.

Go this year, Europe is opening back up and it is going to be cheap. There are some awesome cheap miles flights right now to Europe for late summer and fall if you have some.

Sorry should have added the footnote that she’s finishing grad school in Dec and we want to celebrate both our 40ths and her graduation.

I’m surprised how expensive flights still are for July. Italy is $1700-2000 per person from DFW

In 2019/early 2020 I traveled probably 2-3x a month both locally and flying to other states. Since the virus started, I've only got one trip planned and that's a road trip to washington state from buffalo once everything clears up (likely late June).
Other than that, I've already said no to a few weddings for August/October and besides potentially utah in late october and flying home for christmas, I can't really think of other trips. I've been saving a lot on rental cars/hotels/flights and still have about $500 in delta credit I'll need to use within the next two years. If you've got the funds, later this summer and fall may be the cheapest travel you'll have seen in a long time. I'll keep traveling, but will be well aware of costs moving forward.

I am canceling a May trip to Aruba but I booked a trip to STL for Memorial Day and NOLA for July 4th. Will be careful but not living in a bubble. Now if things got worse before then I may rethink but otherwise looking forward to traveling again. I've worked from home for the past 15 years but always traveled for work. I'm looking forward to that resuming as well as we are currently under no travel for work.

I travel a lot of work. I used my points for family travel. If this keeps up much longer then I won’t have the points I usually have in order to take family vacations.
For work travel will get back to normal the second someone tells us we can travel again.

I still have two trips in 2020 very much happening (June and November). 2021 will not slow me down either.
