I get that Louisiana will never have scenery like the Pacific Northwest or the New England area but those places will never have spots like this either. We have our own kind of natural beauty down here.

Don't need proof. I lived there for 33 years.

No need, logic dictates it is.

There was a guy who rode around the world. Mark Beaumont. He started in Paris and ended in Paris. Went through Eastern Europe, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, SE Asia, flew to Australia, went through Australia, flew to the U.S., cycled through, and then flew back to Portugal to get back to Paris.
He was completely fine camping in shady motels and on the side of the road in all of those Asian countries. It wasn't until he got around Opelousas, Louisiana that he ran into any trouble. He was hit by a car, possessions the same night, and got no almost no help from the police.
So, yeah. That really stuck with me.
EDIT - originally said robbed of his car. My man was on a bike. Brain fart

Whatever makes you sleep better at night buddy. Keep that mentality and keep losing population because people can just go straight over to the Texas border and make 2-3x as much money at the same job.
Look at Texas during this coronavirus. They're doing a lot better job than Louisiana. There's about a million reasons why Louisiana is one of the worst infection rates per capita in the country. Pretty much par for the course of how everything is ran and done in Louisiana which why it's always at the bottom of everything. Idiots like you contribute to it without even realizing why. Smarter people end up leaving for greener pastures while it's left with people like you who keep it stuck in the mud.

Things got nasty in Louisiana.
I was passing through a little village called Mamou when somebody drove through a red light. I went straight over the bonnet and was badly hurt and my bike was broken. The nearest city to get things fixed up in was 50 miles away. While I was trying to sort things out, I got cornered by a gang and mugged. They took almost all my valuables, including my camera, so I lost all the footage from that leg of the journey.

I bought the aerial America Bluray and went to New York to see the twin towers and they were GONE.
So perhaps they aren't very accurate or well researched.

Watched the Colorado episode a couple of times. So much beauty in this state and amazing things to do an places to go.
Don't think I'll ever move back to Louisiana.

You went straight to the good parts and missed the boring parts of AR:
I spent untold summers (and the best times of childhood) and Christmas and Thanksgiving at my Grandma's home in Paragould and traveling all over the State.
My uncle was Sheriff of Greene County way back when. I have a wonderful story of my cousin and a neighbor kid riding his horses without his permission and taking a whipping from him because we played cavalry using handles we'd sawed off of some of his shovels and hoes and used them as swords to knock down a hornet nest. Getting us and his horses stung requiring a doctor for us and the vet for the horses.
He beat me and my cousin and told the neighbor kid he was off the hook-getting thrown, getting stung, and being stupid enough to listen to me and my cousin was punishment enough.
I'm very familiar with Arkansas, her people, and her great beauty.

Louisiana is a wonderful state, with great people and great cuisine. Unfortunately they just can't seem to detach themselves from that democrat tit.

I posted about enjoying the Aerial America series on the Movie/TV board and several posters mentioned this same thing about Louisiana.

I guess morons are saying LA isn't a shite hole. But I don't need a documentary to tell me it is. I live here. It's a shite hole. To say otherwise is just being naive.
