Dear Friends,

Do you enjoy walking through cemeteries? I do. They give me peace. They let me know that my story is not isolated and alone, but a small part of a greater continuum and story. I feel rooted and connected to the narrative of God's salvation through Christ when I see the graves of those in my family and those who are my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Recently I walked through St. Vincent de Paul #1 in front, or some would say behind, Newman. It gave me great comfort seeing the beautiful grave sites, the crosses, the scriptures inscribed, and the words of love and loss family engraved on the tombs. I would like to share ten of my favorite pictures from that walk. Close examination of the photos reveals small details I did not sense during my tour.

For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
And He shall reign for ever and ever.
King of kings and Lord of lords. Forever and ever. Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Faith, Hope, and Love,
TulaneLSU

Much improved TulaneLSU. Much improved.

The narrative conveyed a nice spiritual and contemplative message, while being succinct.

When a writer can deliver emotion and spiritual tones through brevity, he's succeeded in sending his message.

Oh and by the by. Although a full ten works for this, please consider the possibility of doing some fives or sevens in the near future.

I believe your lists will carry a bit more gravitas if trimmed down.

Have a well deserved upvote.

Friend,

Thank you for that link on your family's fascinating history. It appears that your great, great, great, great uncle owned and is buried in St. Vincent dePaul #2 in Bywater. I hope one day to do a Top 10 there. These photos, though, are from St. Vincent dePaul #1 Uptown near where the neighborhoods now called Jefferson and Freret meet. I look forward to exploring your family's old cemetery once this time passes.

Thanks also to all the kind posters and their kind words.

Sincerely,
TulaneLSU
