And Watfords college teammates and most likely training partners, draft or no draft are here.

I think his point was that if Watford was definitely gone he wouldn't be hanging around here because no reason to really.

Mays is from BR originally and his family still lives here. Again - I’m not saying it means with absolute certainty that TW is staying, I’m just saying it’s not the norm.

Many of the guys, who both are and aren’t returning) are not in BR right now (Emmitt, Days, Marlon)

He can do this anywhere, if he didnt care about school, he'd be gone for sure as theres no reason to stick around.

Also smart isnt going anywhere

I don't get it with LSU basketball players. As of late NONE of them are even close to ready yet they declare. Stay at LSU get better as a team then fool all the scouts etc... maybe 3 or 4 of you get drafted. Like some of Brady squads Big Baby, Tyrus Thomas, Bass, Randolph. Neither was great but as a squad did enough to make scouts think "potential" These guys dramatically underachieve then declare smh smh

Nothing wrong with checking out the waters but another year would do him wonders. He has good post moves down low and cold improve his 3 point shooting. needs to bulk up and get better on D. just don't see him getting drated in this COVID environment.

He doesnt need them to prepare for the draft, for starters Smart isn't leaving either.

Only Reid and Waters left early last year and both made NBA rosters in some capacity. Reid actually ended up signing a pretty nice deal worth $4.2M over 3 years.

If Williams is the only one to leave early this year it's because he had a kid and wants to make money, hard to fault a guy for that. Whether that's in G-league/NBA or overseas that's his decision to provide for his family.

He will be a second rounder. Easily

No he won’t. Naz Reid went undrafted, and Naz was much better.

Hopefully Obi Toppen can start a trend of projected 2nd round to undrafted guys entering their name, getting good feedback, and returning to school and becoming a lottery pick. Seddiq Bey is another example of that this year.

Watford would be dumb to not to enter the draft process. Doesn’t mean he’s definitely done at LSU. Best of luck to him in whatever he chooses.

A lot of people bashing Watford on this thread. I agree that he could use another year to work on his defense especially. However, this is how the new system works. College players can declare for the draft every year if they want, go through the process, get helpful feedback from pro scouts, and still come back to school, even if they hire an approved agent to represent them. I think we could really use him next year, but if he gets different information from the pro scouts, and they see a lot of potential in the kid, enough to get drafted, God bless him, and thanks for his service.

Emmitt will very likely be gone, people connected with program have been saying it since before season. He had no plan to return.

And where is he going?
Emmitt is not a professional basketball player. He needs to get his degree.

The NBA is not the only place to collect a paycheck for professional basketball.

Wherever he can collect a paycheck to play pro basketball, he hasnt figured that out yet, the draft/NBA stuff hasn't happened yet. I'm sure like most he will give it a go there and take it from there.

Well...he does shoot FTs better than Ben Simmons. But I did too way back when in HS. Rest f his game needs polishing before he is NBA ready.

This week and last are usually the weeks a lot of players announce under normal circumstances. It just feels like this season has been over for 2 months already because of the situation.

If he goes try to play professional this year, he will make under $100k easily. I get it, he may need that money now, but that money will be there next year. I think getting his degree would be more important at this point, assuming he could get it in 3 years. Then he has something to fall back on.

And to be clear, Emmitt is one of my favorite LSU basketball players of all time, and i've been watching for a long time.
