I’ve never really played enough to have an interest in playing online with friends...until now because of corona
So I’m looking for recommendations for a set of headphones with mic that are under $100 that I can use for modern warfare. I play on a Xbox one x.
A Wireless Bluetooth setup sounds ideal, but through the little bit of research I’ve done it doesn’t seem like Xbox let’s you connect through Bluetooth without an adapter. So I guess I’m looking for wired ones that are comfortable, don’t have connectivity issues and will just work.
Let me know if you need any more info

No advice since I just wear my son's if I need, but if you wear glasses get a pair that is designed for them.

Ahhh. I didn’t even think about that, and I do wear glasses when playing. Thanks for the advice.

I’ll tell you exactly what to do
Go order:
Phillips SHP9500S headphones - LINK
VMODA BoomPro Mic - seems like they’re out of stock on Amazon, check Newegg, Bestbuy, Sweetwater, etc
Should run you like $100 for both and that setup will far outclass anything in its price range. I’ve put over a dozen people on it and still get thanked. If you don’t believe me, look up the countless reviews and then buy with confidence

2 sets of headphones at the time. 1 set cups my ears like () the other is the opposite )(. The )( set puts enough pressure on my ears to cause compression sores if I keep my behind the ear hearing aids on.

HyperX Revolvers S or Cloud X. I have the Revolver S I play on Xbox One X. It has a USB audio dongle for PS4 but plugs into the XBOX controller. They sound great. Can hear every footstep in Modern Warfare. They can be a bit pricey. Walmart has them under 100.00 but are out of stock. Amazon is 150.00
If you dont want to spend that much look at Hyper X Cloud X or Hyper X 's other sets. Also I hear the Series X is ditching the TOS link in favor of USB audio. Just something to consider if you plan on getting one.

Oh nice. That would’ve never occurred to me.
So I’d just use the Vmoda mic/cable plugged into the headphones and then plug the other 3.5mm end directly into the Xbox one controller?
Do you wear glasses with them? Comfortable?

correct. mute button and volume wheel on the boompro cable, and game/party adjustment slider on xbox/ps4 panel

no, but i used to before I had Lasik. very comfortable. Just to refresh myself, I just put mine on with some Ray Bans and it felt amazing. I don't think you'd have any issues at all

Excellent. Thanks for the rec, and to the others that chimed in. I think I’m going to order it, because I like the idea of using the open back headphones with my stereo as well.

Just to clarify does this control the game volume or the mic volume?

headset volume. you set the mix of game volume & party chat volume on your console, then the wheel on the cable acts as a master volume to control how loud that mix is

I recently switched to sennheiser from Astro and I’m loving them. I got the sennheiser game ones. I hear the GSP models are great too.

Im telling you since hu flung poo told me about the combo of what carson said ill never buy anything else. Astros are garbage compared to these, and this is coming from a hardcore astro fan boy. Any other recommendation is wrong.

On the Amazon listing it says the mic (and by relation the entire headset setup) will not work out of the box with the Xbox One and that the official headset adapter will be needed for functionality. I have no idea if this is true. But if it is, its worth adding the adapter to your purchase list, since most people won't already have one. This will also add another $40ish - $50ish to the cost.

I believe, and someone please correct me if I’m wrong, that you’d only need the adapter if you had the Xbox one v1 remote that doesn’t have a 3.5mm headset input on the controller?

that's not true. the boompro has (2) 3.5mm ends. the end next to the mic slots into your headset. the other end slots directly into the 3.5mm jack on your controller
if you have one of the old controllers, you'll need the adapter for any 3.5mm setup since the initial ones didn't have a 3.5mm jack

I really like audio technica, they work great for gaming and music. They have quite a lot of different setups too.

I'm about to purchase this combo.. the mic is available on Newegg. These new Corsair Void Elites I got just don't sound that good... Is $55 the right price for this mic? The newegg one ships from China....
