New Orleans is now $150 million in the hole for the year

This number just keeps growing...….
So what would you expect. You shutdown ALL of your tourism in a time that oil is around $20 a barrel. I shudder to think what our state's budget currently looks like. You thought the coronavirus was scary? We have mini-dictators (political hacks) closing businesses and restricting our constitutional rights. We even have the same mayor who wanted to place an airport on Elmer's Island shutting down the whole island of Grand Isle to anyone but the residents. Imagine owning property and not even being able to access it. (of course the residents can leave and possibly pick up the virus at the Walmart in Galliano but I digress) All of this nonsense is going to be felt for a very long time. The longer we keep up with this the more painful it is going to be. Our governor gave the city of New Orleans over $50 million right before the election. Maybe this time the fine citizens of New Orleans can pick up the tab for this fiasco themselves.

Taxes will be raised substantially at the state level and if you live in Orleans at the city level. It’s going to be a taxing buffet.

No layoffs of city employees either.
It's clear Latoya thinks she's getting a bailout.

I don't know if that'll be possible.
Are they gonna bail out all these states and municipalities?

Maybe if they weren’t so corrupt they could find a couple places to save some money. I have no empathy towards that city government.

These threads are funny.
Wtf do you think New Orleans and LA as a whole was supposed to do? Be mad at your lord and savior Trump for not taking this shite seriously in DECEMBER and even making false statements about having this shite under control in March.

Look for red light/speed cameras on every corner of Orleans Parish. They’ll be calibrated so that you’ll get a $500 ticket if you're caught going 5 mph under the posted speed limit. Anything over the speed limit will be $1000 ticket.
Lakeview, certain Uprown residents, and you gentrifiers are fixing to get a$$ raped. Latoya is gonna get yo white arse to pay up.
