Forbes article end of China As Manufacturing hub

quote:

The new coronavirus Covid-19 will end up being the final curtain on China’s nearly 30 year role as the world’s leading manufacturer.

quote:

Yes. It is Mexico’s turn. Mexico and the U.S. get a long. They are neighbors. Their president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador wants to oversee a blue collar boom in his country. Trump would like to see that too, especially if it means less Central Americans coming into the U.S. and depressing wages for American blue collar workers.

Shipping a container from Mexico to New York takes five days. It takes 40 days from Shanghai.

quote:

For those considering moving operations, 80% said they will do so within the next two years. They are “doubling down on Mexico”

I pray it’s true.

This would be a huge win/win.

Wouldn't be as many people trying to get past it if there are more jobs in Mexico.

There are companies who would not move to China but would absolutely move to Mexico. The logistics are better.

Is this what Trump meant when he said Mexico would pay for the wall?

I like this idea. A majority of Mexicans are hard working family people. Lets get them in on the action.

While a stronger manufacturing sector in Mexico would help stop illegal crossings. The double-edged sword is that US companies who would not relocate to China would absolutely consider moving to Mexico if it’s manufacturing improved.

I think if you consider a “Zero China” policy, the volume of manufacturing would be more than we could handle or want in the U.S. alone. Mexico/Central America may be necessary to achieve that goal.

As with anything, it will be a balancing act.

Just wondering, how is it that the coronavirus is not teeming over Mexico City, the most populous, crowded city in the Western Hemisphere? And with a horrible medical infrastructure? Remember we are told heat is not a detriment.

You globalists never learn do you. You spend 30 years enriching a communist regime that turns around and repeatedly poisons us and when you finally get called on it you want do the same for a failed narco terrorist state.

Well heck with that. Bring it home to America. Free trade for first world nations only. Walls for Mexico.

This would be fantastic as it would mean fewer illegal aliens here and a better economy on our southern border.

I'll say it again...

Trump's recent virtual declaration of war on cartels is setting the stage for Mexico to welcome manufacturing. A win for both Mexico and the USA. That's a major victory.

We just can't do it while cartels hold so much sway over the Mexican government. Send naval destroyers, air support, clippers and strategic intelligence support, which Trump has done, and we can greatly diminish the sway the cartels hold.

Mexico has to get the cartels under control or it won’t work.

It would be great for the USA if a bunch of manufacturing moved from China to Mexico. This time let's not screw it up with another PNTR.
