means absolutely nothing. The simple fact is that Tua is still a mystery. Now I am truly hoping for the best for the young man, but the book has yet to be closed on this injury. Lingering effects may be hiding around the corner, and to be clear, I hope this is not the case.

Even if he was completely healthy right now, Burrow has still been more durable and healthy than him.

They’re right. Replacing Andy Dalton with taller cheaper Dalton will do frick all for the Bengals. Tua is clearly the best QB in the draft, but you can put your franchise’s hopes on his back without your doctors being able to examine him.

Move back and get some more talent. You have a bottom 5, probably bottom 3 roster in terms of overall talent in the NFL. Clear out your expensive old talent next offseason and find your guy then.

if they do this they will be playing in front of an empty stadium.... want to lose all your fans... that's how you lose all your fans. I've read the Bengals reddit enough to know that if they don't take Burrow they will have less than 10 fans left at their games

Funny how so many former players pick Tua & so many former GM's/HC's pick Burrow. Primarily because of Tua's high risk factor. Players do not have any risks in picking players; it is the job of GM's. Rex Ryan, love him or hate him, said Tua was the highest risk in all his yrs of coaching.

How much is Burrow's agent paying these writers to try to convince them to trade down so Burrow doesn't have to play in Cincy?

I love that they keep harping on his "mediocre" Junior season. He only went 10-3 aa a starter, with all 3 loses against top 20 teams (1 loss being a straight up fluke). Beat 4 top 10 teams and finished 6th in the country. All while throwing for almost 3000 yards on a run dominant team, with 16tds and 6ints. Oh yeah, he also rushed for 400 yards. He was a top 10 QB prospect before the season. But they all act like he came out of nowhere..

If Burrow had come out for last year’s draft he would be selling Farmer’s Insurance somewhere in Ohio right now. Dude had 8 tds in SEC play in 2018. fricking 8. And half were in 2 games.

Danny Etling outplayed him the season prior with worse talent.

Thats not even close to true. Burrow way out performed Etling, plus he had showcase performances against Miami, UGA, A&M and was a star in the Bowl against USF. He would have been solid in work outs/interviews and I believe would have been taken before the 6th round. Teams loved him, he just knew he could show out his Senior year. Made himself a ton of money..

Pre-injury I would take Tua.

Post injury I would take Burrow.

Joe Burrow just had the greatest season in NCAA history and has never missed a game. I don't see how this is much of a question right now.

I would also take trade up if I were able to take Tua at 2 because he is that good. But to pretend his risk profile doesn't give pause is silly.

I also would love to see these dimensions outlined.

I agree. Joe is elite , but damn the Bengals need so much help it’s ridiculous. They are like the 88 Cowboys. Trade him and get 4 picks between rounds 1-3. Then trade one of those for 2 more mid round picks. Now you can build a team. They will be bad again this year. Draft a QB next year. Get value and picks now.

Passer ratings:

Etling 2016: 135
Etling 2017: 153
Burrow 2018: 133.

Etling was the 219th pick of his draft (7th rounder), but yeah sure Burrow with one year of experience, putting up worse production with a BETTER supporting cast, would have been drafted higher. Yeah okay

He also only had a 57% completion %.

There are a lot of college QB's doing this. Jake Fromm smoked those numbers.

Burrow had an incredible senior year, but his junior year was nothing impressive.
