It must bother him knowing he will never know what it feels like to have a great team and win a NC.

If someone thinks Tua is a better or safer prospect, that's one thing. But this:

quote:

Joe Burrow, who is coming off one of the best college seasons by a quarterback in history, lost a QB battle to Dwayne Haskins at Ohio State before he transferred to LSU. And Haskins might not even be the QB1 in Washington this year. Tua should be the guy.”

is fricking asinine rationale. DeAngelo Hall is a tard.

The thing is, there are some LSU fans that only root for LSU players and will be disappointed if Burrow is a bust

Most fans want to see their players do well in the pros and there are fans that get defensive with any criticism of their schools players, not just Burrow but any LSU player and its not limited to LSU fans either.

But what this retard is angling for is discrediting Burrow as a college QB if he’s a bust. Which of course is stupid as frick

Not only that, Haskins was an incredibly productive college QB and won the Buckeyes the Big 10, not like some bum who went on to accomplish nothing in college beat him out plus he was a first round NFL pick, I actually think this argument helps Burrow next to the "formative, motivating experience" argument I mean game recognizes game at least at that aspect

You’re right the draft position does matter but Jamarcus Russell’s standing with LSU fans hasn’t changed after he busted as a #1 pick. Before he was drafted he was considered a top 3 LSU QB with Hodson and Jones usually ranked ahead of him and now Burrow has likely replaced him in the top 3 but that’s about it. One thing about LSU fans is they tend to live in an LSU bubble and once someone leaves they tend to let them go. Sure they follow and pull for them but their legacy is always cemented in college.

Exactly. I have no problem with people saying the Bengals should trade back, I'm almost always a fan of trading back. I might quibble with the logic some of used but that's not an irrational discussion. I don't think Burrow is a can't miss prospect, but then again who is? He doesn't have an elite arm and sure having one mediocre season is a legit concern. If you like Tua better or think there's not much difference between Burrow and say Herbert or even Love, move back.

I think that's same with all college fans. They all love their teams college stars and think they will all dominate in the pros. I have a friend that went to UT, he actually bought Saints season tickets after they drafted Ricky Williams and he lived in Austin at the time, had no ties to the Saints or NOLA.

Nor is it limited to football, Chris Jackson wasn't a superstar in the NBA, but he's still beloved by LSU fans.

Saints really should've gotten fleeced by the Skins when they made that trade (Cincy almost accepted the offer too) but we all know Snyder and his ability to squander assets

really luck of the draw for Chris with his second year in the league as all the writers and critics likely expected him to improve off his rookie season and he regressed to barely contributing at a meaningful level. With Issel, he somewhat regained his form plus he played in Denver and they've been the bridesmaids or rejected bridesmaids of the NBA since David Thompson discovered coke 40 years ago. Just never broke through to that elite level which would render him untouchable then the Anthem controversy occurred and all went downhill forever.

No you’re absolutely right I just mean most LSU fans, especially here, tend to only watch LSU and live totally submerged in an LSU only world. Like your buddy buying Saints tickets most college football fans are football fans period. A lot of LSU fans aren’t and are extremely ignorant to the sports world outside of Baton Rouge.

It was a horrible trade, Ditka was just lazy, however I think that was still a couple years before Synder bought the Redskins. I know they used one pick on Lavar Arrington, I remember being pissed because i thought he was going to be a freaking badass

He was ahead of his time. CJ in today’s NBA would be unreal. I’ve always thought Curry reminds me so much of Jackson in college.

Shaq is one of the best players in NBA history, the best pro in any sport from LSU, he’s a great ambassador for LSU and loved by LSU fans but ask anyone that followed LSU basketball in that era and almost all will say Jackson was their favorite player. It will be that way with Burrow.
