Earlier today we had 2200 cases. Assuming we have 330M people... then we have a 99.9993% survival rate. Not shabby. Good thing we crashed the economy for the 0.0007%!
ETA- for clarity the 2200 reference above is mortalities. That number was as of 4ish pm I believe.

The lack of intelligence in some people in this board is downright frightening.

This is a very original and unique topic. Thank you for starting this thread

Even though it implies this is a bigger issue than it is...photo is still apt here

I didn’t say a survival rate of people who got it. Just saying all of this shite is fricking chaos. Which sonic you want to meet at bro?

Stay low and keep firing... you can probably up your survival to over 99% I suspect. Don’t be a sitting target.

Data on the PT Board shows a 1.7% (and rising) mortality rate.

We know, we read your post. You're dumb.

You wanna see chaos? Open everything up right now with a fricking virus that can mask itself in one person and jump to every person they come into contact with without ever showing the slightest symptoms.

Earlier today who had 2,200 cases? Louisiana alone has 3,300 cases.
Did you mean 2200 deaths?

Actually what we are seeing is a lot of test suppression thereby minimizing the denominator and upping the mortality calculation. Called selection bias

I said survivals. 2200 died man.

You should talk to someone working in a New Orleans area hospital.
shite just today I know 2 people that died that were friends of a friend or family of a friend. And two more that are battling,

I recognize healthcare is local. I happen to be in the field. I am just tired of seeing the mortality broadcast and the skittles meme about 3 out of 100 skittles.
At the end of the day less than 1% of Americans in all likelihood will test positive. Additionally less than 1% of a real mortality rate will exist. So 99.9% of people will make it out of this; however the likelihood of suicide, bankruptcy, and mental distressed persons will significantly outpace deaths from this.

Around 1600 people in the US died today from cancer.
There are 330M people in the US.
Therefore, cancer has a 0.999996 survival rate!

When we talk about a disease's survival rate, we're not talking about people who don't have the disease.

Precisely. Have we shut down everything we do for cancer?

I don't think you are an engineer. You have a different style of interpreting data.
