I know that there is a good deal of age diversity on this page so I figured there should be some impressive/interesting responses. Mine aren't really that big name guys. Played against Jonathan Stark (played at Tulane and Murray St and now in the GLeague) and Melvin Frazier (played at Tulane and now in the NBA). Also played Patric Young (played for UF BBall) in AAU. I am sure there will be a lot better names than mine. Also, how did the game go against whichever played you picked?

Matt Kemp. I played against him in baseball, but he was elite in basketball and football too.

Back in the late 60's I was in high school and got into amateur boxing and the small gym I was training out of had just a few guys who were training that were my size (140 lbs.) at the time.
So, the man training us brought some of us up to St. Mary's Gym in the French Quarter since it was one of the best, and most popular boxing gyms in the city at the time. A couple times I got tossed into the ring with a very good amateur who eventually turned pro and amassed a 60-7-4 record before retiring. Even though we were no more than 6 months apart in age, he was light years ahead of me in training and endurance. The young man's name was Tony Licata and sparring against him really drove home how important conditioning is in the sport of boxing. After 3 rounds of sparring I was gassed and he was ready for several more.
He won the NABF Middleweight title in 74, fought for the WBA Middleweight Title in 75--losing by KO to Carlos Monzon in Madison Square Garden and went on to win the U.S. Middleweight title in 76 before finally retiring in 80.
Unfortunately, boxing did take a toll on Tony and he suffered from pugilistic dementia later in life and died at the young age of 56.

Having run D1 cross country I’m pretty sure I “ran against” an Olympian or 2 in some races without realizing they were there. I was usually mid-back if the pack at a lot of the races so I was blissfully unaware of what was going on at the top. I know Kennedy kithuka who was NCAA champ in the 5k and 10k at Texas tech was at chili pepper Xc fest in Arkansas with me one year.

Played against Kevin Durant back in my high school hoop days. Crazy to think he became one of the best players in the NBA

Played a pickup game against Shaq when I was in high school and he was at LSU.
Showed him what's up.
Actually it was more like "I am playing against Shaq, WTF was I thinking?" I was completely intimidated by the sheer size of the guy.
Dude definitely just dicked around and took it easy on everyone out there. No one scored unless he allowed them to![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Pick an Olympic gold medal swimmer from 96-04 not named Phelps. He was a tad young by the time I was shutting it down.

2x All Star closer BJ Ryan hit a homer off me in middle school. I say hit, more like smoked.
I caused a fumble from Notre Dame and 49ers WR Arnaz Battle freshman football.
