If you don’t make up statistics, I won’t correct your correct generalizations.

If you don't talk, I'll pretend you know something.

Lol. You’re pulling stuff out of your arse (I think I read 70% somewheres).

The quickness of her death means she developed ARDS. Her obesity kept her from getting the oxygen her organs required to help her fight off the infection.

Hardly. CFR will almost certainly be under 1% when the statistical analyses come out when all this is over. I’m just not a stupid jackass overstating my case.

She has cankles for wrists. How about obesity?

Everyone has underlying conditions.
Posted on 3/26/20 at 8:20 am to HailHailtoMichigan!
Just to summarize and echo what others have already stated.
The OP or the source should have never said “no underlying medical conditions” when she is obviously morbidly obese.
I see kids all day and I can tell you that 99% of them have hypertension when they get to that BMI. Their lab work looks terrible as well. 80% or more have elevated liver function tests, high cholesterol, and borderline type II diabetes. I can’t imagine the toll that that BMI takes on the body for the next 15 years until they are in their 30’s.
Some parents take me seriously when I talk about the severe medical risks of obesity (most notably cancers) but most ignore it and say “this is how my whole family has always been”.
That poor girl probably has 3-4 undiagnosed medical conditions that would have ended her life early. It’s still a very sad situation for her and her family.

The problem is journalists have no problem lying to fit an agenda.

This... Just because everyone else is a fat slob, it is ok for everyone to be a fat slob AND it is not ok to point out that being a fat slob has underlying health ramifications...
But it is mean to call it out...
31 yo with no underlying health issues my arse...

Ummm, do you not see the indication of visceral fat crowding out major organs in that picture?

I know there’s gonna be a ton of “she fat” comments here. But she went to the hospital, was on a vent 24 hours later and dead before a week was up.
Correct. There's a bunch of ignorance in this thread and even worse cruelty. A young woman is dead, and all anyone can do is celebrate her obesity? That's quite disgusting. While obesity will cause health issues, it is not in and of itself one; meaning being obese does not make you one with an "underlying condition" that would make you susceptible to ChinaFlu's worst possible outcome. If she had respiratory issues, heart condition or some other problem, then sure; however, we have no idea if any of this is the case strictly based off of her picture.
The other fact of the matter is there will always be anomalies in the mortality rate of any disease. While there have been a handful of young, healthy human beings who have died from ChinaFlu, they are strictly an anomaly based on all the data we have. It's noise, nothing more.

When death knocks on our door and says “trick or treat,” we give it candy and hope it goes away. Or we toss a virgin in a volcano. Or we point and laugh. This isn’t much different as a psychological response.
