They have a 40 billion dollar endowment and just laid off their entire dining hall staff without pay.

Also, they didn't help pay for any travel expenses for their low income students after the school forced the student body to move out of the college housing, something every other major university did.

quote:

Harvard University, which has the largest endowment of any school in the country, is cutting its subcontracted dining hall workers without pay as it shuts down in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The move is drawing criticism from employment rights advocates on and off campus who point to the university's $40.9 billion endowment as evidence that the school is hardly in financial straits. They also claim the decision violates Harvard's wage equality policy, which requires the university to compensate dining hall contract workers in a fashion comparable to the school's directly hired employees.

Yeah that’s really fricked up.

Also, this sentence is an understatement. A better way to phrase it is “Harvard University, which is the second-most wealthy non-profit organization in the world, behind only the Roman Catholic Church”

That is liberalism in action.

Those communist pricks preach it, but they don't live it.

Meh.

Typically, there are incredibly strict parameters on what endowment funds can be used for and I would imagine Harvard is no exception.

You don’t get a $40 billion endowment by giving that shite away...
