Well I asked some posters the other day that were calling the people who were saying a 14 day shutdown was possible idiots if they were going to brush it off and not stock up just in case or would they rather be prepared and it not happen. I was called an idiot l, told they weren’t going to do shite and so on. Well to be honest I hope those people don’t do shite and grocery stores clothes and they starve with their ignorant asses! I still hope it doesn’t go that far but why not prepare for Incase it does but it’s coming I think!

I’m sorry but I’ve commited no crime, I’m not in jail. I’ll leave my damned house if I want to. Virus be damned we shouldn’t tolerate this overreach of the government like this.

And this right here is why the "quarantine the olds and let the rest of us live" is a retarded idea.

It’s not going to be police enforced so how many people are going to follow it honestly?

Is this gonna be like the SF Shelter in Place in which people can pretty much move around freely and every business that people need (food, drugs, etc) is open for business?

Yes. They’ll all be like that.

So it's really not any different that what we currently have going on.

Most of retail is closed
Restaurants and bars are take out only
Office jobs are working from home

Sounds like what we are already doing tbh

Why does all of LA have to suffer for NOLA?

I've heard that italy really lost control when they locked down lombardy region because everyone ran to get out before the deadline and thus spread virus rapidly around the country.

So if you lockdown ONLY new orleans, baton rouge can go ahead and get ready to become next hotspot

They won't close grocery stores in a shutdown like that. It'll be considered essential, like a medical visit or pharmacy.

I'm not sure that comparing ourselves to Italy and basing our strategies on that is the best idea. Italy is an outlier and a whole different ballgame.

Even in Italy the grocery stores and pharmacies are still open
No one is being locked up and forced to survive on just what they got

This is going to cause some serious economic destruction and it’s a worthless gesture. People should be rioting against it.

Flatten the curve
You’re selfish

That's literally what happened though. There were a few hotspots in the lombardy region. A couple of media outlets leaked that a regional quarantine was coming earlier than they were supposed to and a shitload of infected people spread out all over the country.
