As I’ve said elsewhere, I’m beyond pissed they are rewarding the poor for being poor. Some of us make more than the threshold, pay more into the system and always seem to foot the bill for those circling the drain of society.

you're being small minded.

this isn't about "rewarding" anyone; it's about keeping the economy alive during these shutdowns, shelter in place, and quarantines. in this case, a rising tide truly does lift all boats.

McConnell is saying that the Senate wants to give $1200 per individual and $500 per child. Limit is $75000 single and $150000 couple. Anything over $75000 and $150000 will be reduced $5 for every $100 earned.

My wife has to layoff 2 people and furlough another tomorrow. She is absolutely miserable tonight. Trying to get her to understand that the 3 will be taken care of in the coming weeks... but it still isn't helping.

How are these income limits determined? Last year's tax returns?

We don't know but 2018 returns make the most sense.

Even if it’s only what’s over 150,000

That’s still 2500 and they were only going to give you 2000 in the first place? (1000 per person?)

So a family of two parents and one child making combined 200,000 get nothing.

Same family with 2 kids gets $500?

Somehow, previous generations survived a depression, a recession or two, and a few wars .... all without a subsidy. The entitled generation expects this from government. Some of us survive on a SS budget just fine. The loans and/or grants need to go to business to keep jobs. A lot are working from home, but a lot go to work every day so there is a cashier available for food, etc. People need to learn to survive without a handout; don’t expect life to just go on, adjust to the current environment and get on with living. Life is a team sport; help the family, friends & neighbors if can.

I didn’t read the word reduced. Because I’m retarded. I’ll happily go kill myself now.

I still say, don't give out money, give out vouchers to get bills paid.

People will waste money and put their hand back out for more.

Still, it doesn’t make any sense? For 200,000 they reduce it by 10,000?
