I’m 100% all in for preventative measures to stop the spread but these curfews are pretty fricking ridiculous imo.

We don’t need minors running the streets in the middle of the night.

That’s for us OG’s

Agree. WTF does time of day have to do with anything? It's about where you go and how many people you gather with.

This is just authoritarians flexing their muscles.

Some parishes in Acadiana are implementing curfews in response to COVID-19.

The list below will be updated as curfews are put in place.

LAFAYETTE PARISH

quote:

An 8:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. curfew went into effect for unaccompanied minors beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 16. The curfew will remain in place until Sunday, March 29. (Minors that work will be considered on a case by case basis)

EVANGELINE PARISH

quote:

Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine announced that beginning Tuesday, March 17, an enforced curfew will be in effect from 8 p.m. - 6 a.m. until further notice for all unaccompanied minors. This curfew will be strictly enforced. Minors going to and from work will be exempt, providing they show their work ID. Parents will be held responsible if their minors do not obey the curfew. Citizens are encouraged to use the anonymous TIP VILLE PLATTE app and report those vilating the curfew or call 911.

IBERIA PARISH

The City of Jeanerette set a curfew from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. for all unaccompanied minors and a curfew for adults of 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. This goes into effect today at 8 p.m. Minors who work will be evaluated on a case-to-case basis, the orders says.

The City of New Iberia has set a curfew from 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. for unaccompanied minors beginning at 10:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2020. (Minors that work will be considered on a case by case basis.)

JEFF DAVIS PARISH

quote:

A Parish Wide Curfew will begin on Wednesday March 18, 2020 at 11:00 p.m., in accordance with the Louisiana Revised Statute 29:724. The curfew will be in effect from 11:00 p.m. thru 5:00 a.m. until further notice. The parish-wide curfew excludes persons traveling to or from work or an emergency.

Except Jeff Davis Parish, all the rest of the curfews apply to unaccompanied minors. I don’t really have a problem with that. If they extend curfew to include adults then I have a problem with it
