No it isn't, moron, MERS killed 37 PERCENT OF THOSE INFECTED, so for every 50 people infected 17 died, IN COMPARISON for every 50 people infected with coronavirus, only 2 die and most of those percentages are skewed per what's happening in Italy. The issue is hospital capacity not the lethality of covid 19.
20% of those infected have to be hospitalized.
If it spreads rapidly, the hospitals are overwhelmed and have to chose between a covid patient that can’t breath or a heart attack victim.
Our hospitals don’t have much excess capacity.
China had to frantically build new hospitals to accommodate the surge.

None of those were even remotely as contagious as this. It lives on surfaces for far longer than most viruses. Another problem with this virus is that it generally takes weeks for symptoms to really start showing. Meanwhile, you are potentially infecting everyone you come in contact with.
Bottom line, it’s better to err on the side of caution with this. I’ll gladly give up a year of sports to keep people from dying.

This is exactly what I was trying to get people to understand.
Percentages are only relevant in a case like this when you take into account the numbers infected.
What is more? 100% of 5 or 1% of 100 million?

LOL bullshite SARS has a higher contagion, this is nothing but a flu I’m not saying take it lightly but this is not the black plague and the recovery rate continues to rise with all the death totals being skewed to what’s happening in Italy, let’s call it what it is

Incorrect facts. These positive test came from one group that started testing with test not approved for Covid. Widespread testing hasn’t been and isn’t available. The actual number is likely much larger than published...otherwise such money makers like professional sports teams and disney wouldn’t be voluntarily forfeiting millions of dollars.

Actually, you are the fool because you have fell for the hype. We could eliminate millions deaths by lowering the speed limits to 10 mph but we don’t because that would be stupid. We know that higher speed limits cause more deaths in proportion to speed but we still allow people to drive 70-80 mph knowing that more people will die at these higher speeds. It’s all about a response in proportion to the risk, and what is going on with this Coronavirus is way out of proportion to the risk. I’m not against taking reasonable precautions, but this overreaction is ridiculous.
