He said, “ET, home phone.”

Drew Barrymore is the one that says “ET, phone home.”

LINK 1:54

I thought they both said it. My mind is blown.

Never says it in Silence.

But after being quoted for years...

Says it years later on the phone in the sequel:

Or is that wrong too?

Neither have I. Here comes the part that always gets a downvote avalanche: E.T. looks like a dumb fricking movie.

“Be good” is the better quote and actual E.T. quote anyway. You can actually use it in everyday life.

People have also seen movies on TV growing up that differ from theatrical/VHS/DVD versions.

So it's not that it didn't happen, they just saw different versions.

Heavily edited out R-rated movies for example shown on TV have different added scenes that you never see in the Theatrical/DVD version.

Caddyshack had this...there are edited out scenes in the main movie that were added in for the TV version to replace too risque parts.

Same with Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

The 80's TV version of Caddyshack had long encounters with Ty and Carl.

Phoebe and Jennifer Jason Leigh have long lame conversations after work because you can't show Phoebe's tits on TV and Jennifer Jason Leigh's sex scene with Damone.

There are definitely movies that people grew up with on TV that aren't in the theatrical version.

Is it really Mandela Effect if you get minor details wrong like which movie from a series had a certain line or which prize giveaway used Ed McMahon?

I think what's most fascinating about it is how so many people collectively but independently get the same minor detail wrong.

It’s because people as a whole are retarded

Probably from memes or other pop culture references where something is misquoted. "Ruh roh Raggy" is a good example.

I would consider Mandela Effect to be something completely out of left field, like Mandela dying in prison in the 1980s.
