Did he participate in the killings at all? Did he order his cousin to shoot? Encourage him to do so? Did he even know the killings would occur? Is he an accessory in any way?

You left out the part where HE planned the whole fricking thing.

I don't know much about this case, but if he's on death row and didn't kill anyone or fire a shot, then I'm not sure how someone can accept our justice system doing that.
I don't know the particulars about this case but those who are willing and informed accessories a murder that occurs during the commission of another crime are able to be tried for the murder.

There has to be more to this story right??
Nope. That's the gist of the story. Alabama has some weird accomplice law, and he was found guilty of being an accomplice, so I guess that's enough to murder him. I really don't want to go there, but him being black doesn't really help his case either.
Another dark, shameful day in this state unless the governor steps in, which I doubt she will.

He planned the murders and admitted as much in the trial.
Gas his arse

I am genuinely asking; do you have proof? Or where did you hear that?

I'm all for someone who killed someone getting the death penalty. If someone takes a life, they should forfeit their own. However, if this is the case as it was described that someone else pulled the trigger and killed the cops and admitted to it, then at a max, IMO, the dude should get life in prison. He's being put to death for being with someone who killed 3 cops and admitted that the other person had nothing to do with the murders. That's not right. That's not justice.

I would need to hear the whole story. If he was just sitting there doing crack then no I don't think he should be executed but if helped in any way with the murders then yes he should be put to death.

It's called felony murder in most jurisdictions, and Alabama isn't the only state that has a felony murder statute.

Well if Kim Kardashian can convince Trump to call Governor Memaw in time, she will grant him his stay. No politician in Alabama is going to go against Trump

I assume it is because of the law that "a death while committing a felony is murder". But if this guy was a rich white kid over there buying drugs when this went down, he'd already be out.
Purchasing a small personal amount of drugs wouldn't be a felony, so the kid buying drugs whether white or black wouldn't be charged with felony murder

Despite the fact that Woods never fired upon the officers, prosecutors offered ample evidence that he appeared a willing participant in the carnage.
“The State established that Woods and Spencer had engaged in a hostile, profanity-laced argument with Officers Owen and Collins on the morning of the shootings, and that Woods threatened Officer Owen by stating: ‘Take off that badge and I will (expletive) you up,’” court records state.
Two female acquaintances of the men testified that, after Owen and Collins left to confirm the outstanding warrant for Woods’ arrest, Woods said he would kill the cops. A man who was there with them testified that Spencer said he would “light ‘em up,” and Woods concurred.
One of the women tried to get Woods to leave the apartment with her, but he said he wanted to stay with Spencer in case the officers returned.
“Officer Collins testified that when the officers returned to the apartment to arrest Woods, a man who had been outside said that he wanted no part of what was to take place,” court documents say. “When the officers told Woods that they had a warrant for his arrest and attempted to take him into custody, Woods cursed them and refused to come outside. He told the officers, ‘If you come in here, we’ll (expletive) you up.’”
quote:
After the shooting, Woods and Spencer fled the apartment and ran to a neighbor’s house for shelter. Witnesses who saw Woods there described him as calm, even as he said, “They (expletive) with the wrong (expletive). We shot their (expletive).”
To Spencer, Woods said, “You came through for me,” witnesses testified.
Yeah, sometimes you need to get the FULL story. His family and the libs aren't gonna tell you this part. He wasn't just an innocent victim that got caught up in the crossfire.

I would say that this adds a whole lot to the complexion of the case.

I don't think anyone has claimed he was just an innocent bystander. The issue is using the death penalty in a case where the convicted didn't pull the trigger, or even fire a weapon. Throw his arse in jail for the rest of his life maybe.
