Give me Nuss. He is a better passer over the middle. That was a key to Burrow's game. It opens up the entire field.

Rohan to Reed was magic. What he did against Tennessee in 2001 was legendary.

Is Nuss a statue in the pocket?

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Love nuss and he def seems bigger than listed weight
You talked about him interacting with his teammates, and that's something I noticed also
You can't teach that fire and that is 1 thing that the greats have
Joe burrow wouldn't be the same qb without that fire

Did I mention i love nuss and think he is going to be a great qb for lsu

No. Go watch his junior highlights. He slides in the pocket while keeping his eyes down field. He escapes the pocket and throws accurate passes on the run from either direction.

Right. The dudes movement and mechanics are nice.
Honestly you can tell he is a coaches son.

Feel like it is the worst kept secret that he is going to commit to lsu

That's an interesting example bc I think Davey is probably more beloved than Mauck and Flynn even though they have the hardware.

I’ll take Ro 100 times out of 100 over Mauck or Flynn.

The days of these guys sitting behind someone in their own class are over. We sign two, one of them is gone the next season.

Yet we JUST finished the 2020 class with Max & TJ and neither will likely start for the next 2 years. Oops...

Disappointing. Would much rather Caleb Williams

What’s disappointing about a very talented quarterback wanting to be at LSU?

2001 LSU-Tennessee is my all time favorite game and I was living on another continent at the time. Had to listen over dial-up modem in middle of the night and then rewatch on VHS months later.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Ro stepped under center in Tuscaloosa and yelled, “ya mon, imma trowing da ball to 2-5 AGAIN, irie!”

I love Burrow, but Rohan also would’ve fricking killed in this offense.

Flynn as well.

I have no doubt Williams is the real deal. He has the arm talent and his ability as a runner is elite. He may need to work on consistency/accuracy

Mike Leach: “If a quarterback isn’t accurate, you shouldn’t recruit him”

“The thing that’s amazing to me, is that after all of high school he’s not accurate, and now all of a sudden you’re special and you’re going to make him accurate? And then after college he’s not accurate, and you’re special and you’re going to make him accurate? I just haven’t seen that happen. I’ve seen guys improve, but they don’t all of a sudden become accurate.”

8. Myles Brennan

This list is all the argument needed to hold out for the potentially generational talent, Caleb Williams. Fine with either, just prefer Williams if the choice is ours.

Yea I don’t get the infatuation with everything BUT accuracy.

Don’t care if the dude has a cannon, if he can’t drop it in the ocean, then what good is it?

Everybody watch the film and rant

Kid sure has the arm strength to make all the throws the offense will ask of him. First play of his junior highlight tape he launches a ball from his own 3 and the receiver catches it on the opposite side 43....just an easy 55 yard bomb as a 16-17 year old...

He looks a lot like the kind of QB LSU wants as he really looks a lot like burrow out on the field. Just throwing guys open on these long passes and side stepping rushers without much trouble.

Caleb Williams may end up being an unstoppable force in football but Nussmeier does seem to have the style and ability that could best translate to success in the current LSU offense. Not to say Williams doesn't have that or wouldn't be able to be great....but just watch Nussmeier play and tell me he doesn't remind you of burrow with how he plays the game...

Fans are star-gazers by nature. Some are defaulting to Williams strictly based on stars.

In reality, Nussmeier will likely get bumped up significantly and could easily be a 5 star.

The only thing keeping him from that now is his size, which is weird because size is becoming less of an issue, even in the NFL.

He will get a bit bigger, have a crazy senior year and probably be a top 5 quarterback in the rankings.

He’s there already in my opinion.

The coaches know the lay of the land. They may already know Williams is going elsewhere.

If so, take Nussmeier, then Walker Howard in 2022. Then we are set at QB for nearly a decade.

I agree.

I don’t know why this is a decisive issue for so many. LSU could take take quarterbacks if they want.

I think the smart move is take Nuss if he wants in. He’s an elite quarterback. He’s got all the skills to be truly special. If Williams wants in too then great.

You don’t turn away an elite player who wants to commit for an elite player who might commit or is telling you he will behind closed doors. How many times do we need to get burned in that scenario before people figure it out?

If Williams wants to be here then he will be. It’s not like the coaches quit recruiting the kid.

Personally, and it’s just a gut instinct, could be totally wrong, the kid seems like he’s very fond of the recruiting process and telling a lot of people what they want to hear. Not saying that’s a terrible thing bc it’s pretty common but for me it’s just seemed like it was stupid to presume he was a lock based on an interview his dad did in November. He’s done several just like it for other schools saying he’s got a “special connection “ with this coach or “loves” that school.

Bottom line, TLDR....take the elite guy who wants in and don’t wait for a kid at the same position who may never come here
