Contractors for LSU Athletics say repeating the grading will cost around $8,000.
I'm sure he damaged it but anything after "contractors say" is always a lie.

Does this kid want to be a firefighter? We should get him fired before day one.

So what should this work cost?
No idea, but I can shed some light on the scope. I’m a surveyor and construction manager that works with CEs on mostly dirt work projects. They’ll probably send a surveyor to grid the damaged area to generate a topo map to see exactly what they’re dealing with, then send out a dozer or dirt pan equipped with lazer levels to redress the area, then grid the area again to confirm the work was done right. The slope on a world class facility like that has to be gnats arse for optimal drainage. So it’s not just a dozer and operator, it’s that plus a surveyor and an engineer. Also, depending on how far they’re going with this, trying to achieve a specific compaction rate may be in play.
Now I have no idea how far they’ve gone with this dirt work, but to keep that field as playable as possible under the conditions that are common in South Louisiana I’d imagine they’re taking it pretty serious.

You very obviously know nothing. You just need a dozer and a guy to drive it.

Wouldn’t a little rain shower totally frick that up? If it’s that sensitive why was it just left open and exposed?

The field was damaged and needs to be repaired. We're discussing the repair. Did you have something you would like to add?

when a once in a lifetime opportunity or temptation presents itself, one must weigh the risk and reward then make a once in a lifetime decision, obviously made the wrong decision he will remember his entire lifetime...

Those are gubmint prices. And Louisiana gubmint at that. You doubt they are dumb enough to overpay?

Like the guy said who knows the owner, he probably did it for free. well Good for him because they would get him repeat business from LSU.
Nothing like inducing a state owned employee by giving free work.
Cant do it. Just think about the legals.
Every single thing has to be done by the book, or the risk of a later issue not being covered is HIGE

I'm sure there will be multiple studies done before actual work. BILs need to get paid

Update on the story: Three arrested. WAFB
And sorry to un-out this guy, but the one he was kissing was apparently the girl.
Three LSU students, Clayton Fleetwood (left), Thomas English (center), and Catherine Nowery (right) were arrested in connection with a viral video of a joyride inside Tiger Stadium.

A second joyride occurred on Feb. 8, according to LSUPD. Again, Fleetwood and Catherine Elizabeth Nowery, 20, enter the same gate, get into another UTV, and drive it through the walkways and onto the field. Fleetwood and Nowery parked the UTV in its spot before talking, hugging, kissing, and drinking what are believed to be alcoholic beverages near the gate, police say.

He probably fessed up because he was being portrayed as gay and wanted to “clear the air”.
