The Advocate’s Wilson Alexander noted LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri’s total disgust in the ways LSU loss to Nichols. “Last night hurt, that was a bad one” Mainieri further explained “It was one thing after another that we should not do, a good team doesn’t do.”

Mainieri’s teams have notoriously started off slow, but it’s hard to accept and understand play like this overall. Alexander reported that freshman Alex Milazzo will catch the next two games and may be used as a designated hitter in other games.

And people are still in nuclear meltdown mode 5 games into the season.

Not being discussed enough, should be multiple threads on solutions for LSU baseball, no need to have them buried in one huge thread. AIr them out!

Stop experimenting so damn much during a game, allow them to improve and jell as a team.

Fire Pawl/Marinara/Pulmonary. He's mediocre. Won with Smoke's players. Living off what Skip built. Body language. Haven't read any of that in the last 5 minutes. Rant is slipping.

The Rant: "Take Hughes out of the lineup and put in some big boys to hit home runs."

The Rant: "Stop messing with the lineup. Play small ball (yes this was actually suggested)."

The Rant: "They never swing at the first pitch!"

The Rant: "Stop swinging at the first pitch and work the count!"

The only reason there should be one thread is because the solution is pretty simple.

Cool. So you are a proponent of not changing the lineup a ton. Mainieri always does this early in the season

Do you remember that year Mainieri experimented with the lineup and inserted Nola in at SS?

His teams start off slow?

The majority of his seasons LSU has had max 3 losses before sec play. The losses come againts sec teams.

Thats not notoriously slow. It wasnt until like two years ago LSU was losing 5-6 games before sec play.

LSU baseball is being written off in February, that’s different.

Well fans went a decade with out losing that many games early. 07 and not until 2017.

Im just saying that notoriously slow comment is way off.

I know hes a freshman, but so far Milazzo hasnt been any better than Garza on defense.... hopefully that changes and I know he has the better arm... but suggesting it be a permanent move seems a little pre-mature.
So far Milazzos hitting has been more impressive than his defense
