So Auburn shoots 41% and Kentucky shoots 50% and yet we are still in a dog fight with both of those teams.

It tells me that if we get healthy, develop some depth, and defend the three better, we have the ability to make a deep post-season run.

wow. eye opening. that confirms that we have a problem, not that we didn't already know it. But wow, somehow we have a great knack of vastly improving opponent's ability to hit threes. Unbelievable.

I would count it as 6 approximately at season average or below, and 8 significantly above.

I'd be interested to know how many times Kentucky and/or Tennessee have shot 50 percent from 3 against an SEC team.

Added Florida. Despite shooting horribly in the 1st half, their 43% 3 point shooting performance moved them up a good bit on the list.

Coming into the game Florida was shooting 34.2% from 3. So its another game where we allowed the opponent to shoot nearly 10 percentage points above their average.

Last night vs Florida was a microcosm of what has happened in several games where the opponent has shot an abysmal three point percentage for the first half and sometimes for 30 to 35 minutes. Then they suddenly cannot miss from long range and hit 6 for 7 or some such run at some point in the game.

Kentucky had one three pointer at half then made six in the first ten minutes of the second half. Auburn had a similar run at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime. Florida was 2 for 11 at half last night and then went 7 for 10 in the second half. This may be the result of not having much depth with the injuries as much as it is a systemic problem.

interesting. But its more fun to blame Joe Alleva. Plus you get a lot of "upvotes" if you blame him and defend Wade.

What strikes me is that LSU has turned their games into 3 point shooting games with their defense. So they need to shoot 3 point shooting better and defend it better.

IMO they also need to play better in the first 4-5 minutes in each half.
