Is anyone even looking at the circumstances surrounding these three cases? There’s a lot to complain about if you hate Trump but this isn’t among them.

I’m sure you can find much worse among Obamas 2000 or so pardons and commutations.

This is just More of the same; Dems bitching about everything because orange man bad

That always makes it better. Thanks for putting things in perspective.

Blago didn’t deserve that sentence it was insane

I'm sure you'd still think that had it been Obama who commuted his sentence.

I just saw CBS Evening News attribute the President’s commutation of Blagojevich’s sentence to seeing the imprisoned former governor’s wife’s plea on (wait for it)...

Fox News.

I don’t think he will have many opportunities to pardon innocent people....

Not a comment on Trump at all here, but I’ve always hated the pardon power. To let one person, with no mandatory review, be able to free someone that went through the legal system is some monarchy bullshite.

Can it be used for good? Of course! It’s still too much power to give one person.

Bingo.

Blago is a massive player in the crooked Chicago machine.

This is a clear message to Obama's regime.

Meh. Blagojevich was basically the annoying kid who no one liked, but everyone let hang around because he was from the same neighborhood, and they didn't want to be mean.

Blago was a useful idiot to make an example of. The only message here is that his sentence was comically excessive IMO.

He only pardons those who can help him in some way, or as a favor to a friend.

That’s pretty much the executive pardon power in a nutshell. Groundbreaking stuff.

Well yeah. Or someone like Jim Brown puts a group together and lobbies on someone else’s behalf.

How did you think this worked? A list of old felons, a blindfold, and darts?
