Boy Scouts of America files for bankruptcy amid hundreds of sexual abuse lawsuits

The youth organization, which celebrated its 110th anniversary February 8, listed liabilities of between $100 million and $500 million, but $50,000 or less in assets.
The bankruptcy filing comes at a time when the organization faces hundreds of sexual abuse lawsuits, thousands of alleged abuse victims and dwindling membership numbers. As a result of the filing, all civil litigation against the organization is suspended.
Paul Mones, a Los Angeles-based attorney representing "hundreds of sexual abuse victims in individual lawsuits," called the organization's bankruptcy filing a "tragedy."

I believed in the organization that I belonged to in the '80s. This is disappointing, but the pain is blunted by twenty years of foreshadowing.
FWIW, the selling popcorn scheme was a lazy cop-out. I cringed every time I would see cub-scouts selling it.

I was in the Boy Scouts in the 80's and loved it. It's a shame what the liberals did to it, and for the members of the organization for not standing up to them.

What a sad, sad day.
At one point the Boy Scouts was the premier institution for helping boys become men. Then, they started literally bending over for the LGBTQP's and SJWs and now they're not even a shadow of their former selves.
America is not better for this. I'm glad I came up as a Scout in the 90s before this organization was completely ruined by progressivism.
