"What laws are being broken?"
I was making a point. We have laws. We have laws for a reason. Those reasons as they apply to a civil society are quite important. That's why we have them.
We also have standards of acceptable behavior. They might not be laws so to speak but they are every bit as important to having a civil society as are our laws. If you accept the premise that laws are important then you must also accept the premise that standards of acceptable behavior are important.

It's a good point. I think my counter is that those standards for acceptable behavior have always been lowered at LSU games and it doesn't necessarily reflect how people behave outside of the game nor does it impact how their children will grow up.
A lot of people suspend their everyday behavior at football games whether it be drinking alcohol or cheating on their diet, etc. If kids see grown ups drinking alcohol at LSU games at noon, does that mean that they will grow up to be alcoholics? Of course not. Does that mean that the parents exhibit that behavior at home on a Saturday in June? It does not.
What it comes down to is that it's 8 games a year and only a few times a game. It's really not that big of a deal.

I don’t want my 12, 10 and 7 year old kids hearing that. If you’re not honest with yourself enough to admit that it’s old/tired and vulgar, than you should at least be honest with yourself enough to admit your an a..hole for not carrying about offending people who pay money to go to the games and did nothing to deserve to be offended in that way...
Geaux tigers!!!
Do your kids have cell phones? Computers?

Are you talking out the side of your neck? Of course you can hear what they are saying.
Unless you are sitting next to someone yelling it, it’s not obvious what a crowd of people are chanting from across the field.
“F*ck you Saban” vs Bama in 2014 was easy to make out, but because it’s three words, we’re playing Saban, and there is no band playing drums and tubas, drowning them out.
Also, the people chanting it usually get so excited, half start chanting it early while others chant on cue, therefore they do not chant it in unison, so they are just yelling over each other and you can’t make out what is being chanted.

When you do that chant, can you explain the emotions & feelings that go thru your body?
Posted on 2/2/20 at 1:58 pm to Lester Earl
Mostly we are superior you can't touch us and I bet I'm pissing off a shite ton of snowflakes. In a nutshell... Personally I just think it's funny

The band doesn't play it in Tiger Stadium anymore. I don't know why you pearl clutching figs keep bringing it up. You've won.

It’s the total opposite feeling I get when I read your posts.

I had no opinion either way until I saw how many snowflakes get super triggered by it. That makes it worthwhile to me.

The chant makes LSU look terrible. If you disagreed then you still have a lot of growing up to do. Don't mind the kick their arse but Suck that ... is beyond acceptable.

Nah. The thing is that you’re a trashy person raising trashy kids. Doesn’t piss me off any more than saying it’s sunny outside today. Why get upset about facts?

some of you who have no qualms about teaching your small children that those words are acceptable
I'm pretty sure no one in this thread has advocated for that.

Getting shitfaced in public is trashy, sets a bad example for kids and is a bad look for LSU. Do you also have a problem with that and with LSU for selling alcohol in the stadium. Are all of those people getting trashed everyday at home and raising trashy kids as well?

Not on Bourbon St. my homey!
Posted on 2/2/20 at 4:13 pm to RedTigerRulz
Of course it isn't on Bourbon St. That's an exception to the rule just like LSU football games are. The overwhelming majority of peoole would never act like that in a restaurant, a movie, school function, birthday party, etc.

"Justifications" such as this one are puzzling. Why, then, does it seem that so many people on this forum have fits if Neck is not played? I just don't see any reason why anybody thinks it's cool.

It's called parenting. My son went to the A&M game as a make wish , I just explained it's something LSU does. It makes LSU unique. Just don't repeat it. College kids are witty and can be a lot of fun. I am all for it.

I somewhat agree that there is such a thing as venue standard of behavior. The acceptability of the behavior is more defined by the type of people at the venue. Tiger football games have a wide assortment of ages, backgrounds, religious beliefs, on and on. There are tons of good, decent people coming to these games with their children hoping to have a memorable experience. They deserve some semblance of respect rather than being exposed to the lowest common denominator, behavior wise. We all can do better than this. There is a middle ground between the Pope and the poop. Let's not settle for the being the poop.
