"It's just a reflection of where LSU fans are today"
No, it's a sad reflection of where some LSU fans are today. The deterioration of our society has been on autopilot since the age of the soundbite. Manhood has been cheapened, women have been reduced to sex objects, and children, who gives a shite about the children? This chant, vulgar as it is, is just one more small surrender to the forces that will ultimately destroy our society. It's college kids being college kids but slowly stretching the nature of what is regarded as acceptable behavior in a mixed setting. I don't like it. Unfortunately, our culture needs to change to a more positive direction to stop it. That isn't going to happen anytime soon.

It is pathetically embarrassing. How many of you in support want to sing that to you 6 or 7 year old. Is that really how you want our program to be seen?

You are BEGGING for an "OK Boomer" response with this post!
If the majority of younger LSU football fans did not enjoy hearing Neck and yelling "Suck That Tiger Dick, Bitch" at EVERY opportunity, I feel certain that it would have disappeared by now.
Instead, it appears to be gathering steam.
This is something beyond your control. Best to just roll with it and prepare to be "lumped in" with the majority of the younger LSU fans who love Neck and who love to yell Suck That Tiger Dick, Bitch!"
Just be glad that the "Heeyyyyy, Baby-eeee, I wanna know right now, will you be my BITCH" seems to be fading away.
Both are excellent reflections of where La. is now as a demographic group. I have no control over this, so, I accept is as one of those things that I cannot control.
PS Let's be glad that the new taunts are not even worse! I mean, there is room for further descent to rock bottom. I could think of some group chants that would approach that, but, the phrases "suck dick, bitch" and "be my bitch" are further from rock bottom than what I could conjure up.
Just be glad it's not even worse than it is now!

It's too late to pose that question. What's done is done. This bell cannot be unrung.
The LSU fanbase is now associated with this.

Is this really your idea of an even comparison? Come on, man.

Very well said. Things happen in life that we don't agree with and that we can't control. Best thing to do is to use those examples to learn from and to use as teaching tools.

In the thread you see what people's expectations are regarding the reputation of their community and school.
Some don't expect much and some do.
It is just the way things are unfortunately.

your participation trophies are collecting dust in maw-maw’s attic.
For a generation that likes to shite on everyone for being "soft" or "snowflakes" you geezers sure are upset over a chant.

I know you little assholes have been raised to think only your opinion matters on anything
Quite the contrary. The OP is the one who is attempting to force his opinion on everyone else, expecting them to cater to him/her.

Don’t like the OP’s viewpoint? Oh well. Take your white trash arse out of here because nobody cares.
You very obviously care enough to get pissed off and respond.
This is a message board. People express their opinions and exchange ideas.
The OP is asking thousands of people to cater to him over a chant. Maybe the OP should stay their easily offended arse at home instead of going to an LSU game?

This thread is the most intense upvote/down vote battle I’ve ever seen on multiple posts

It really is crazy.
When I first saw the title, I thought for sure it was going to be a shite show in only one direction.
I was wrong. Apparently there are a slew of overly sensitive elderly folks that post/lurk here.

It's a very polarizing topic. That's why I love it so much. I couldn't care less about them actually saying STTDB or playing Neck. I've never understood the fascination with it. But, it's awesome topic to discuss.

I don’t want my 12, 10 and 7 year old kids hearing that. If you’re not honest with yourself enough to admit that it’s old/tired and vulgar, than you should at least be honest with yourself enough to admit your an a..hole for not carrying about offending people who pay money to go to the games and did nothing to deserve to be offended in that way...
Geaux tigers!!!
I don’t really disagree but come on.
If you ever been to an LSU game, he’ll any college or NFL game, you heard all kinds of vulgarity shouted at people and teams. Why does the vulgarity associates with neck cross the line?
If you really want to protect your kids from hearing obscenities, just stay home and watch on TV (though that doesn’t help at my house, I curse like a sailor when watching games)

A better question that one of my high school teachers used to ask us--"would you say that in front of your mother"?
Unfortunately today I believe many would and not think a thing about it. What does that say about the mothers?

This is great for anything outside of sporting events, especially football. There are a lot of mothers out there yelling it too.

I didn't know that sporting events meant no limits on behavior. Thanks for letting me know.

"This is something beyond your control."
It certainly is if folks don't draw a line about what is and what isn't acceptable. Drawing lines of acceptability is how society is best maintained for the betterment of everyone. We have laws for a reason. Should we just get rid of all laws? Standards of decorum have value that most who are too immature to understand them cannot grasp. Life is larger than our genitalia. Fatherhood and motherhood are more than just penises and vaginas. Young, college age kids are too busy being into themselves to care about others. This is how it has always been. That doesn't mean that they can simply throw away the confines of decency without suffering the consequences of the judgement that comes with it.
The neck chant is bad enough by itself. That LSU and many of it's older fans find it somehow acceptable is even worse. Like I said, there has been a deterioration of our culture and this is evidence of it. Acceptance is not going to change the direction this is headed. Be glad that there are some who still are willing to speak up in hopes of changing that direction. This is a chant of 12 year olds. Can't college age students come up with something more creative and worthy of their intelligence level?

No limits is a stretch. But, there definitely is a different set of rules for the overwhelming majority of people that attend. Always has been.
