Tomato above or below the patty? Lettuce top or bottom? I'm trying to configure the perfect burger!

Bun, burger, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, sauces, bun. But I end up eating it upside down anyway.

Cold side cold-hot side hot. So, cheese is never on the same side as the veggies or condiments.

I like to call this "Mouth Science"
Your top central incisor teeth are meant for piercing - and whatever is towards the bottom will contact the tongue first. This can change the order if you have a topping TOO hard on top of something soft - as it may cause the bottom of the sandwich to get smushed outwards while the top teeth are applying more force to break whatever's on top. I also like to isolate the tomato/onions/pickles (if I put some) from the meat to maintain the veggies integrity/juices/crispness, so I put the lettuce on the meat/cheese first.
For these reasons I like to do the following order (from the top down): bun - pickles - tomato - onion - lettuce - cheese - meat - sauce - bun.

Reverse your cheese and sauce, and you have the science right.

Build from bottom to top:
Bottom bun-patty-cheese-sliced onion-tomato slice-lettuce
Mustard and pickles go on the top bun
If I add bacon, it goes on top of the lettuce, but under the pickles (because they're in the mustard on the top bun, duh)

Bun, mustard, patty with cheese, lettuce, maybe sauteed mushrooms and/or onions, top bun. Don't really like tomatoes on my burgers.

Reverse stack for me. I like the burger juices dripping down on everything below but that's just me. That's just something I enjoy.

I don't use lettuce on my home burgers
Typically I grill some onions first, then cook the patty, when the patty is almost done I put cheese on it and steam it to melt it. I usually make garlic/sriracha mayo that goes on both sides on the bun, grilled onions go on top of patty (cheese side up).
ETA: So mine is:
Top bun
Garlic/Sriracha Mayo
Grilled onions (maybe also grilled jalapenos)
Cheese
Patty
Garlic/Sriracha Mayo
Bottom bun

Toppings go on top. It's right in the name.
Some deviants prefer tops that bottom. Let's not go into that here.

Correct. Only sandwiches I use tomato on is a BLT, club or a tomato sandwich. Don't get them on po-boys or burgers. They just slide off and create a mess.

I don't have a preference as long as the cheese is on top of the meat and the condiments are on the bun. Anyone that doesn't do that is a psychopath
