Not at all l, I’m sure it did. I was just curious. If they know the at bats where it was used and all that you can chart the outcomes.

He said it was in there so was just wondering if I missed it

This didn't show any player performance. How is one suppose to tell if this helped or hurt them based off what you presented?

Meh. Sign stealing is part of baseball.

Pitchers know when guys are sitting on their pitches when they know they shouldn’t be. It’s up to them to protect their signs.

That’s why there were so many mound visits in 2017 that MLB made a 6 visit limit starting in 2018... because pitchers and catchers knew the batters knew the pitches. (And not just the Astros).

Rangers record in 2017. Sorry the Astros cheated your team out of a title that year.

That top bar chart coupled with the home/road splits makes it seem fairly minuscule and not worth the risk. Also does not warrant committing organizational suicide once the story breaks.

Honestly wonder how many teams are doing this. I’d say there’s a zero percent chance others aren’t.

All of them. Which is why I find the faux outrage and whining by the morality police pathetic but hilarious at the same time.

It’s not my fault all the angels on this earth are so gullible

Serious with this shite? Sign stealing and filming shite with a camera in center field and banging a trash can are not remotely related.

Every team is filming and running a scheme like the Astros?

Come on.

Because their averages suffered from the trashcan help. Unless they were doing it on the road as well. Stats don’t lie.

But you’re right, the Astros cheated as much as all of those Rangers on steroids 20-25 years ago.

Outrage! Cheaters!

Come on man. Players have been cheating at professional sports since it was invented.

Now you’re just outraged because someone got caught/ratted out and the news is telling everyone it’s “destroys the integrity of the game.” Give me a break. Nothing changes or how the game is played will be any different after all of this.

Bountygate was a comparison i considered as well, with the same caveat you mentioned. This is another "everyone is doing it but we need to make an example out of someone high profile" situation.

You really think that teams don’t have some sort of system set up to get a leg up? Regardless if it’s videos or a guy in the stands with binoculars.

Come on.

Playoff teams in the last 5 years? Yes or at least the majority of playoff teams.

It’s like y’all don’t even read the articles.

Beltran implemented it from his systems with previous clubs. Clubs like the 2016 Yankees which he was an all star at the age of 39 and had an OPS>.900 at home

Banging a trash can is just how they relayed it. Guys on second steal signs all the time and relay it to the batter in a myriad of ways. Maybe they put one hand down to indicate off speed. Maybe they put one foot forward, etc.

Even base coaches might try to steal signs. There have been times where managers of opposing teams change the signs because they think a base coach is stealing and relaying signs.

None of that is illegal. It’s part of the game.

This whole thing with the Astros is a step up of the same thing. And I guarantee you many other teams are doing something similar to get an edge.
