Batting average isn't as great of an indicator as you're implying. In 2017, Marwin had 15 HRs at home, 8 on the road (highest HR total at home in his career). In 2017, Marwin had a .543 SLG% at Minute Maid. In 2016 that number was .413 and in 2018 .351.
You selectively picked the one stat that was higher at home than on the road.

His batting average, walks, strikeouts, on base percentage, OPS, were all higher on the road.

Marwin's .326 road BA in 2017 was heavily influenced by a .366 BABIP indicating, to an extent, how lucky he'd been when putting the ball in play. His career BABIP is .310.
So you're explanation is that he just got lucky?

Not necessarily. There is no way that 85% of the pitches were fastballs
They didn't bang trashcans on every at bat or every game.

That's what accounts for the 85%.

My point is on specific at bats where you know they are being helped with the trash can, you also have to count the non-bangs during those specific at-bats as being aided.

I picked slugging stats because when you've been tipped off that a fastball, or offspeed pitch, is coming it's much easier to gear up to crush a pitch.

I said to an extent because well.. that's really what that stat implies. Or you can call it an anomaly, whatever you prefer. MLB average for BABIP in 2017 was .299.

In any event, Marwin's .366 BABIP answers your original question of

Look at this:

In 2017, Marwin’s batting average at home was .282

On the road it was .326

Marwin was hitting WAY better on the road than at home. Honestly, what is the explanation for that???

would also like to say props to Tony for being an actual fan and having the mindset to take off the blinders

I’m a Bama fan and think LSU football program is way better. Can I get some props from you bc I said I’m a fan of one team and posted something negative about them?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the data, but doesn't number of bangs just correlate with number of non-fastballs pitched to the batter?

Yes. It shows how many times each batter knew what kind of pitch was coming over the course of the season.

doing the research to show just how much this franchise robbed many other teams and players cash and a possible championship.

Your data doesn’t support that

Every stat actually shows that the “sign stealing” hurt the Astros..in fact there are several articles that say the practice was discontinued because of its ineffectiveness. Messing with baseball player’s rituals/habits with gimmicks doesn’t always pan out.
