Unless the feds somehow get involved to fast track this, it will never happen. Louisiana will never be able to build this because they're inept, and Baton Rouge will only get in the way.

It's never going to happen.

4 years may not be a bad idea. Governor honor code and the genius he appointed to head up the LADOTD will both be gone. Then maybe someone with half an ounce of common sense can make a decision.

Sure. Cause we got so much more done as far as infrastructure the 8 years before when Jindal and his buds were in office.

I gave Jindal good marks for widening 10 and 12 in the BR metro area. Work he started is still underway.

Was it enough? No, but it’s more than Edwards is doing now.

But maybe we will see more in his(JBE)last term. He does have big plans for 10 here.

What has happened to America? The first bridge across the Mississippi was built by a self taught engineer in 7 years and was completed in 1874. It was his first bridge and is still in use today. We now need 4 years just to decide where to put one. And the governor wonders why the people reject new gas taxes for "roads." Eads Bridge, St Louis, MO

you need to get your head out of the sand. rewind 10-12 years back and there was some pretty substantial work that was out between the city baton rouge (kipp holden), Dotd, and the TIMED program. what was the last big project let out by DOTD? i'll sit back and wait for your response.

Probably will have flying cars by then and won’t need the bridge.

I find it incredible that the East bank highway to the Sunshine Bridge still isn’t four lanes from the bridge to I-10

Just imagine if that were some how converted to a controlled access road from I 10 to the Sunshine Bridge. Then the controlled access road would continue to D’ville merge with LA 1 expand that to 4 lanes and controlled access and then merge back with I10 to the west of its current exit.

I saw them say this and I was floored. How the hell does it take 4 years to decide upon a cross in location? Has no one thought to look into this before?

I have another thing, isn’t the consulting firm chosen being disputed because it wasn’t the lowest bid and partly owned by Bernhard? I’m sorry but if you’re fronting the money to build this project, you should also have a say in where it’s going.
