Why is it so difficult to grasp the distinction between a Trump “supporter” and a Trump “voter” ... the “true believers” versus those who voted for Trump either because he had an “R” after his name or simply because he was not HRC?
The rightward half of the Dem field has at least a shot at gaining the votes of some of the latter. The former? Not so much.
Is it accurate to describe ALL of the former as “racists?” Of course not. But, at a minimum, many of them are devout xenophobes.
