As a Texas fan, when your season is done by week 6, you have to find something too look forward too (the next season). Otherwise you would have to come to the realization that you are the title school of a talent rich conference state, and despite that are nothing more than a mediocre program with a damn near limitless budget.

Sam Ehlinger Lucked out and played our early season sub par defense. The real Chinese Bandits will be in the real Death Valley where Texas’ dream of a comeback will die.
So with a new DC you think everything will be running like a well oiled machine in week two? No telling what our offense will look like either.
I'm hoping for a win too, but I have no idea what we will look like.

Texas and LSU will have very similar talent next year. We might beat them, but we might not. They have a returning QB who is fairly good, and we will be relying on a new guy who MIGHT be good, and even if he is, it might take three or four games before he hits his stride.
Also, it’s fun to deride Tom Herman because he rejected us, but he’s a good coach, and it’s not improbable that he fields a legitimate top 10 team next year. Texas might be the better club in 2020.
This EXACT post could have been written last offseason.
How did that work out for them and us.
I don’t see them being much better than last year. And even if we are worse, I don’t see them winning in Tiger Stadium.

It's gonna be even better when we beat them and Baylor beats them with Aranda.

I hope we play at night next season.

Texas will be healthy, deeper, have an experienced and proven qb, be super motivated and have a psychological edge. If you don’t think they can beat us you don’t know college football. We better be ready.

Texas was 8-5 last year.
Bless their hearts.
Bless their hearts.

I think they are drastically underestimating what we have returning, even with everyone that’s leaving our defense is still more than capable of shutting them down and our offense is still beast.

Hopefully, we have a little more class then the Longhorns & don’t put their band in the upper deck & provide an adequate visitors locker room.
frick that. They’re band is getting the exact same treatment.

Their fans should be put at the top of the West upper deck. I'm so freaking serious!

frick those underachievers. I am going to enjoy this season. They can wallow in another failing year
Posted on 1/18/20 at 5:39 pm to BassMan63
I’m sure they’ll be ranked top10 again.. then finish with 4 losses
Posted on 1/18/20 at 5:40 pm to ctiger69
Texas’s defense was ranked number 97 last year.

Well, put this way - we would have beaten them here this past year, if not for Burrow's Hail Mary Offense. So ...
so that’s what Texas cals best QB ever...

Longhorn fans already smack talking
Bull Shite! The young “punks” were talking tiny smack, but the vast majority were giving LSU MUCH RESPECT - the majority were seasoned fans & said the game would be a “dog fight” regardless of how many players LSU lost early to the NFL!
OP is trolling...

Ding, Ding, Ding! Nail gets hit on head!
We are going to be starting 4-6 LBs that don’t have many snaps under their belts in live game action & these “green” LSU LBs have to learn a completely new defense that the new DC will start implementing this spring...
We play UT in the second game...
UT had 9 green starters on defense when we played them the second week - exact opposite this year - LSU’s experienced defense was a major reason we won last year...rolls are reversed...
Don’t be so confident - they have 3 yr starter at QB that shredded our D last year - we don’t know what Brennan will do with the game on the line....
Put down the cool-aide LSU fans...

I thought Chip Brown had a fair take. Chip is a good friend, I took him to an LSU game a couple of years ago. He knows beating LSU in tiger stadium will be tough, but he is right that LSU had the more experienced team in Austin and Texas will bring more experience this year.
For whatever it’s worth, Chip is a Heisman voter and he was on Burrow for his vote before Joe became the favorite.
I have business partners in Austin and we had a lot of fun smack working before the game in Austin. They were good sports. They were also fired up about going to tiger stadium. Texas will travel well to this game. We should play them more often, it would be a great out of conference rivalry game.
I didn’t see the Texas 247 writers talking much smack, they seemed pretty excited about playing in tiger stadium and aware beating LSU without Brady and Burrow will still be a tall task. To be fair, Texas might have beaten LSU but for the big third down conversion. They were giving our defense fits in the second half.
