Pizza Village in Lafayette is outstanding! It is a greasy pizza but quite tasty. The cheese has great flavor, and the crust is the best in town (as long as you are not looking for thick crust).

In Baton Rouge...Fleur de lis on Government, New York Pizza Co. on Jones Creek, and I'm really digging Schlitts and Giggles downtown.

Someone from north LA is going to be here shortly to proclaim that Johnny's is the greatest pizza in the history of the world. I guess I would like it if I had to suffer through the rest of their restaurants.

Mo's Pizza in Westwego has to be mentioned in the Top 5. It is worth the drive.

Yeah, because being from BR you're at the culinary Mecca of the United fricking States. A city of 400,000 people and no one can ever name more than 7 fine dining restaurants that don't have a corporate headquarters somewhere in the midwest. Enjoy your Mike Anderson's, douche.

And yes, the best pizza in Louisiana is Johnny's.

Mo's Pizza and Brooklyn Pizzeria get my votes, both in the New Orleans area.

I miss old Rotolo's, back in like 2002 when it was really good. They had the 16" larges, and they made their own sauce. Tasted a lot better.

Louisiana Lagniappe
Jubans
Maison Lacour
D'Agostinos
Gallatiors Bistro
Ginos
Ruths Chris
Brandt's Maisonette
Ruffinos

Damn thats 9 right there and I didnt include Mike Andersons.. Dumb fricking bastard.

Oh and the best pizza I have had in LA was at NY Pizza Company.. Which makes sense that it would take a guy from Jersey to show LA people how to cook pizza.

Johnny DeAngelo's is pretty damn good but Mo's on the Westbank is without a doubt the best in Louisiana.

Dude, calm down. I didn't say that BR was the mecca of fine dining, but at least you can find good food, especially seafood here. Maybe I've eaten at the wrong places in Cenla/NELA, but I can say confidently from eating at Waterfront grill, the mohawk, the chateau and Johnny's that all of those places are below mediocre on a good night. Johnny's is ok, not bad, but not even close to being the best pizza in the state, imho.

People that say Johnny's pizza in N Louisiana reminds me of people that proclaim Fleur dis Lis pizza the best around here. Never had good pizza before from places like New York, New Jersey, or Chicago.

That was probably the greasiest pizza I've ever eaten. I think the only way it is good is at 2am after a night of drinking.

was that a ? or you saying you've never had pizza from up there...the ? was best in LA... and imo it's johnny's, but it's a matter of opinion. I've had plenty of Chicago pizza and some of it is better, but my favorite for what is accessible to me more often is Johnny's. It's very unique tasting and better to me than all the other fast food or restaurant pizzas that I've tried in LA.

No I have had pizza from those places. Ive simply never had anything comparable in louisiana. Closest I have come was NY Pizza Co. Arguing taste isnt an possible since everyone has a different one. But I find alot of people that proclaim some place as best ever has really never tried it from outside their region.

I know what he meant and I wasn't commenting on it. Johnny DeAngelo's is on Jones Creek and pretty good. Not bad pasta dishes as well.
