I respect Brady and thank him for what he's done this year. With that being said, Ensminger was the play-caller and led the offense down the field and has not gotten enough credit. He's done an awesome job and I can't wait to see him next year and see what new wrinkles he will add to the offense. Let's keep this party going! Geaux Tigers!

Wahoocs - that was an RPO all the way - Joe B made the choice once it was snapped.

Possible, but not probable

I really would like to hear someone involved address it.

I've watched it 20 times.

Burrow was so deliberate from the snap. He allowed linemen that were blocking DOWNFIELD to clear in front, prior to taking off.

It was a poorly designed RPO that would have likely been called back for illegal lineman downfield, and Burrow's key would have had to been a DL, which is also unlikely, b/c he never looks in the defensive backfield after the snap, best I can tell.

I say it was a run all the way.

Brady is a special talent who is obviously intelligent, perceptive and is exceptional at pattern recognition which is a sign of a high IQ. What really makes him special is that he can impart his knowledge to others. He is a natural teacher. He will be missed.

This talent was seen immediately by Coach O. And he was hired.

However, Brady’s wizardry would probably have been lost on a less-special QB and on less-gifted WRs who bought into the training methods.

Coach E and Munoz also bought into Brady and one has to assume they will continue to at least try to emulate his plan.

Now, if we can only find another near-Burrow and keep Chase and Marshall’s attention.

What I really want to know is who called the 3rd down Burrow TD run

It was a read off the run/pass option. Joe took what the defense gave him.

Not bad about a year removed from being an assistant to an assistant for the Saints

This Clemson team wasn’t anywhere close to as good as they were last year. I heard on Golic&Wingo that 2018 Clemson was ranked as like the fifth best team ever.

I heard multiple experts say this LSU is the greatest of all time. So what is your point?

Honestly that was huge. In 2018, those same receivers' had a significant more dropped passes than 2019. Jefferson's catch rate jumped up 22%, Chase's went up 14%, and Marshall's went up 13%.

This explains why we were so much more efficient once we got into scoring position this season.

Nonsense! Then what explains all of the long touchdowns? The biggest improvement in our offense was not red zone play; it was explosive plays. Ensminger called most of those.

I'm not saying Ensminger was the sole, or even main, reason. I'm saying Brady was not. If Brady was the sole reason he could command a $5 million annual salary. The 2019 season was great for a combination of reasons.

- Burrow put on the Superman cape.
- Chase matured into an unguardable WR and the best WR in the country.
- Marshall developed.
- Deculus and Saahdiq improved their pass blocking.
- Ensminger's spread - the installation of which began in 2018 - came into its own.
- Brady brought energy and advanced strategies from the Saints.
- Moss came back from injury
- Clyde happened.

I’m more interested in who was reading the defenses and making the in-game adjustments than who was calling the plays. Burrow said in an interview that every team they played threw stuff at them on defense that they had not seen on film. So, they had to figure out what the defense was doing after the game started. Once they figured out the defense, then they knew what adjustments to make.

That was LSU’s “secret sauce” this year, IMO. They had a diverse offense that they could adapt to attack any defense. But they had to figure out on the fly each game what the defenses were doing before they could decide what plays to call. They did that better than any LSU team I have seen. Look at the Clemson game. LSU offense shut down to start the game and the second half, but in both instances they adjusted and lit up Clemson’s “top ranked” defense.

If Munoz was reading the defenses, then I hope they find someone good to replace him.

Appears that there are some who resent your pointing out that inconvenient truth which further substantiates - as if we needed any more proof - that this offense doesn't happen without the arrival of Brady.

Those bunch formations were killing us in the title game with not knowing where the blitzes were coming from. The game opened up in the 2nd half when we stretched them with width and bailed on those bunch sets.

No doubt that Brady was instrumental in the evolution of our passing game and will be missed, especially the WR’s development, but make no mistake about it, Burrow was the difference.

This is absolute truth.

Love people trying to subtly bash Ensminger here. I still find it hilarious that they're saying anything that went bad for the offense was on Ensminger and anything good was Brady. Countless times I heard oh the offense picked up must be Brady calling the plays now. I guess since they can't bash O for being a bad hire anymore they have to move down the totem pole and grasp onto something to bash.
