Kudos to Brent Vanables, but Joe and Co figured it out and put up 42.

Who was that ESPN analyst who said LSU wasn’t going to score 42 in this game?

Geaux Tigers!!!

I think being pinned down inside the 10 the first few drives was more effective than anything else. If chase doesn’t drop that touchdown LSU scores 50.

BV did the best he could.

That linebacker getting ejected was a huge help to. Guy is an animal.

Btw, anybody seen Ryan fricking Leaf?

Constant pressure all night. That was a good set up , but we did what we always did this year! I thought the O-line especially good in the 2nd half.

I feel like the poor field position to begin the first two drives really killed what momentum we could have built from the beginning.

Glad this team rallied and didn’t crumble from having to work from behind

They kept disguising their coverages and blitz packages. Joe was a bit tight in the first quarter, but figured it out in the second. For sure.

He said in the post game at first he could not believe his eyes that they were man to man on chase. One he trusted what they where doing, he set it off.

That lb would be picking splinters out of his arse if he was at LSU (at least until our "A" lbs got suspended). Same for the cracka cb they where playing. And fyi, I'm a 50 yo cracka.

true dat - and that 'lineman downfield' penalty that negated a big play to get out out of there was a big factor in that.

Clemson has really good players for a "postionless" defense (again mirroring our own personnel), especially Simmons who was very, very impressive.

I know he won the Butkus award, but you don't know anything about Clemson or their players until the playoffs because they don't play anybody until then. I had questions on whether or not any Clemson player would start for LSU on defense this year and, after having seen him play in the big game, Simmons likely would.

I would not take any of their offensive players over any of ours, although their left tackle is very good.

Simmons was my biggest concern before the game started. Keeping him off Burrow enough times was going to be a key factor. I knew he would give LSU trouble, but could he disrupt enough? I thought the answer would be “no,” but that was my concern.

Only Auburn was able to challenge us with the 3-1-7.
Their 3-1 was able to bring pressure.
Nobody else could.

The problem was starting deep in our territory, offensive lineman down field, dropped passes, Joe a little off, and their blitz. All of these were correctable.

We left 10 points on the field. Didn’t need them.

Their offense was the most challenging aspect until we stopped their run.

I can't wait to get to a defense coaching clinic this year to learn how to run this defense.
