I think the ship sailed the moment he won his first title at Clemson. But you just never know how much the home strings tug.

Nah, when he won his first is still when he could've left and basically said to Clemson "mission accomplished", I've got you to the top, but am going hone to Bama. Mutual marriage happily dissolved.

Winning twice in in three years, playing in a fourth Natty in 5 yrs, with top recruiting classes coupled to soft ACC..

What he has won at this juncture, and is doing now is way more Dabo than Clemson.

He is now the legacy, and Danny Ford more the footnote. Where at Bama, he would be one of many statues, and need to go on a monster roll to dare dream to best two GOATs.

Stay at Clem, and can make a run on CNS for most Nattys alltime..is the smart call.

Why would Dabo ditch the capital he’s created for himself at Clemson and a cakewalk through the ACC to the CFP every year to go to Bama and have to fill Saban’s shoes? Bama fired Shula less than a year after finishing 10-2 and getting a 6-year contract extension. You think Bama will tolerate less than Saban-like results from Dabo because of his accomplishments at Clemson? No way.

I don't see what appeal Bama would have for him other than the fact that he's an alumnus. All things considered, especially expectations, Clemson is the better job.

I think he goes to Baka without a doubt if they come calling

He’s been at Clemson over a decade it’s good to mix it up after that long

Dabo would be nuts to take that job. Whoever follows Nick is in a impossible situation nothing he can do will measure up. Plus why would he leave Clemson? The guy is a God there. He has built them into a dynasty, his dynasty not someone else's.

He's never going to Bama, at least not right away. Dabo knows he built Clemson and going to Bama right after Saban he will be seen as continuing what Saban built. Besides, all of Dabos kids know nothing but Clemson. They all attended school their entire lives there and eat and sleep Clemson. It's a nice story in theory, but Dabo knows he's the man in Clemson. At Alabama, he will be tagged as someone who continued what Saint Nick built!

But mama isn’t calling for him to come help fix a problem. He might bleed Crimson in his heart but he has nothing to gain by going to Alabama. He’s got a great set up at Clemson where he is King. Going to Bama and he doesn’t get to build anything, just try to maintain something that will be damn near impossible to maintain. Following Saban will be an incredibly difficult challenge for whomever does it. You will win a natty at some point and it won’t be good enough. That’s a tough deal

So in other words you rather keep Dabo from going to Alabama so he can keep Alabama competitive and beat LSU and wins some more Championship there? Plus he can keep LSU from going to the playoffs! Just like Nick Saban did for years until this year.

Of course he’s going to claim otherwise but he bugs out of Clemson with the quickness once Saban retires.
Gonna leave a cupcake conference (and automatic CFP slot) to compete in the Western division of the SEC?

He'd be immediately exposed, and he knows it.

Because the ACC is terrible and Debo has a top college team year in and year out. Meaning he can basically walk into the playoffs every year.

Yet he still beat Alabama and may beat LSU this year.

OR you would be scared to see him get Alabama to continue to beat LSU and get back into the playoff. Nick Saban have had no problem for a long time and why couldn't Dabo do the same at Alabama?

His team almost lost to NC by a 2 point conversion. They arent the number 2 team in the country, Ohio state is. If Dobbins doesnt get hurt in the 2nd half we are playing Ohio state instead of Clemson.

Of course he will, at Clemson he is just one "North Carolina" loss away from missing the playoffs every year based on the weak ACC schedule. He will likely be the next Bama HC.

A. He makes more than Nick

B. He is getting better recruits at Clemson than Bama is

C. Clemson is too tight nit and small for any of their violations to ever leak.

D. Dabo would be more of a legend for bringing Clemson a decade of championships than being the 3rd coach to do so at Bama
