I mean...the West is in legendary type status right now with all of these coaches. How could he not want to be a part of this? He has got to be sick and tired of hearing how shitty his schedule is too. I guess time will tell.

Great hires MSU/OM

“I pray to Gawd and he told me lil ole Dabo needs to try his hand at a new challenge.

Now I know nobody believes a lil ole program like Alabama can compete but I’m here to tell you these kids believe!!!”

Of course he’s going to claim otherwise but he bugs out of Clemson with the quickness once Saban retires.

"You know Maria, before I got here, no one could believe that little ol Alabama could win a National Title. No one. I'm just so gosh dang proud of these kids and that it was the good Lord's will that we can bring this title back to the great state of Alabama. Eye of the tiger, Maria. Eye of the Tiger. Gaw lee I'm excited."

I live up here in Clemson country. I know someone who works for Dabo. Lets just say her and her hubby got into a huge argument recently because he said he was never moving to Tuscaloosa. She told me to keep this to myself

Dabo is Bama through and through, it would be like asking one of us if we would leave a Clemson type school for LSU. Of course I fricking would, I don’t care what kind of run I’m on at my current school.

Simple, and I’ve heard Dabo quoted on this... At Bama he lives in the shadow of the Bear and Saban, at Clemson he is alone. It’s that simple. Fleck has made similar comments about Minnesota.

Esp when that other school is a football dynasty that he was a part of building and you know he would like to continue on after Saban.

He might end up at Bama eventually, but he would crazy to even think about about taking over after Saban.

He built a program from nothing to a powerhouse. Won national titles. They’ll build statues of him.

He’s not going somewhere to try to be the 3rd-best to ever coach there.

He'll pretend to be interested when the Bama job becomes available and use it to leverage a hefty raise from Clemson to stay. Just like Les Miles did when everyone thought he was leaving for Michigan

Not only that, the money has to be damn near the same. And are there any players he couldn't get at Clemson but he could get at Bama? Or assistant coaches?

Meh. Why subject yourself to the annual gauntlet that is the SEC West and instead can easily waltz into the CFP via a shite ACC schedule?

I'd argue it's easier at Clemson.

You're selling players and assistants on playing and coaching in the ACC as opposed to the grind of the SEC.

Believe it or not, most head coaches are in the 1% of the most competitive people on earth. So that’s why.

Annual gauntlet is also a bit of a stretch. Bama has won 5 of the last 8 SEC titles, which is the same as Clemson has done in the ACC

Dude, Dabo is not leaving for Bama!!! Why would he? Clemson is recruiting top players, is constantly winning their conference, and is always in the hunt for the playoffs and national championship.... with a lot less pressure. I feel sorry for whoever has to follow after Saban

Well, Dabo can easily scratch that competitive itch in SC as I bet he judges winning conference championships less than crushing A-list non conference opponents and challenging for the CFP every year. I think he also gets off on the whole under-dog role (which he would lose at Bama) as this is Dabo personified.

Also, Dabo replicating Bama's recent run of 5 of 8 SEC titles is speculative as among other factors, even Saban will be hard-pressed to match previous success and Dabo isnt Saban.

I think he believes he can win just fine at Bama...what wouldn’t he? They have been doing it for years now there.

I think it would come down to things like either bama or Clemson building new facilities and putting up extra money for assistant coaches.

Whichever school commits to him to do that gets him IMO.
