That’s an emotional support animal. All you need is a dr prescription. No vest. Those people are making a killing selling something that is not even needed.

So you think “screw you” to the person that has a 20 thousand dollar dog that is there to help with their seizure disorder?

lsunurse is the voice of reason again!

Dogs are moving into the medical field in all facets of disease and disorder detection.

You shouldn't judge anyone. You never know what they may have been through.

You’re only cool until you see a service mini horse. The ADA sponsors mini horses as a form of service animal and is permitted to go anywhere the public is allowed

I usually don't question someone using a service dog. It's the service chickens that make me laugh.....

Normally good words to live by but the other day when I was going into Lowes with my daughter this woman who was not blind or handicapped in any noticeable way had a dog on a leash which was barking and trying to attack every person it saw and she was attempting to calm it down. I judged the f out of her for bringing that animal into Lowes. It was not trained, not obedient and not serving any capacity other than stupid pet being brought into a store for no reason.

That’s because they live longer than dogs. Actual service animals are very expensive.

I know a guy who has a trained service dog that probably weighs under 30 lbs. He is a diabetic and his service dog alerts him when his blood sugar is too low or high (I can't remember). He doesn't bring his service dog to work because the environment is too dangerous for the dog, but he will bring the dog out with him in public in case his pump malfunctions or out of the house for extended periods of time. He knows his limits & his dog's limits, and balances his life accordingly.

No one should have a problem with a service dog and owner like this. I sure don't and I grew up around seeing-eye dogs for 25 years.

It's a win-win for airlines and pet owners. Obviously the airlines research shows that, at worst, people will just bitch about the dogs but they wont actually stop flying because of them. On the other hand, by allowing such loose restrictions with the "emotional support animals" it keeps the responsibility of the animal with the pet owner so the airline doesn't have to worry about ole fluffy dying down in the cargo hold

A vest bought on the Internet does not a service dog make.

Service dogs are highly trained for a specific task
