This guy had some shite seasons with a top 10 all-time QB. We don’t have that.

You could say the same thing about Sean Payton. Would you feel the same way if the Cowboys had hired Sean Payton as their head coach?

What a time to be alive

Dan Snyder getting praise for HC and front office moves

While Jerry hires a coach stuck in 2010 who’s style does not match the roster at all

The fact that it did not appear that they interviewed any of the major hot names is worrisome. It feels like Jerry was lazy. McCarthy can still be successful in the NFL, but he needed the right situation. Dallas is not it.

What makes Jerry think that a guy who couldn’t win consistently enough to keep his job with Aaron Rodgers is gonna be successful with dak Prescott?

It’s such a sought after coaching job that they didnt fire Garrett because they weren’t sure they could get anybody

So basically, he was already "hired" before they even told Garrett he wouldnt be back?

Absolutely. The way he kept stringing Garrett along it was like Jerry would fire Garrett only if another coach agreed to come aboard to replace him.

If Jerry wasn't able to find a replacement he would keep Garrett for another year instead of firing Garrett and gamble on hiring some no name coordinator.

Lol I think MM could still be a decent NFL coach in the right spot. That spot, however, ain't working for Jerrah in Dallas.

This should be interesting and entertaining, at least.

This is like the Chan hire. Chan got the Cows to the playoffs both years and only coach to ever win division all his years there

I trust Stevie in this hire though. He made it not Jerry.

Have you heard the rumors that Rivera basically got Allen fired because he refused to come unless Allen was completely gone rather than simply moved to another position?

Rivera should be put in the Ring of Honor just for that.

If he couldn't find a replacement? Are you joking? It's an NFL job. It's the Dallas cowboys. They had options, I promise.

No.

Payton was a Cowboy before he was ever a Saint. I’d welcome him back with open arms. He has also lost a lot of shite with an overrated, noodle arm Drew Brees.

They wanted a proven winner and they got a proven winner. Of regional competitive eating contests.
