Is the 2019 LSU team better than the 2001 Miami and 1995 Nebraska teams?

Assuming LSU takes care of business in the NCG, what's the legacy of this team? Will it be talked about in the same breath as those two legendary teams?

Huskers put up 53 ppg and allowed 14 ppg. Their closest margin of victory was 14 pts.

LSU is 48 ppg and allowing 21 ppg, closest margin of victory is 3 pts.

Stats say no

Not even going to start talking like this. I remember them stacking up the USC team with the best of all time before the Texas game. I still remember the USC lovefest that was absolutely painful to watch.

Nebraska open their season @Oklahoma St, @ Michigan St, Arizona State. Huskers scored 64, 50, 77 points in those 3 games.

2001 Miami had Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee and Frank Gore in the backfield with Sean Taylor backing up Ed Reed at safety.

How many top 10 teams did those programs play during the season? I mean we can find some Hawaii or BSU squads that had gawdy numbers when they played weak comp. I think LSU played 11 bowl eligible teams this year. That says something.

They’ve got an outstanding offense, but the defense is what keeps them out of that tier IMO

They Kellen Winslow was backing up Jeremy Shockey at TE and Andre Johnson was out wide. They were without question the most talented team, but I don't think they were as dominated at Nebraska. The Miami team actually played in some close games.

If they house Clemson like Nebraska did Florida, yeah they’re worthy of that conversation.

Who wants to be the one to tell them there's still one more game?

Way too friggin soon.

A lot of these super teams lose because they r so used to playing way ahead that they wear out when they actually have to play a tight game in the fourth quarter.

Just saying.
