Minor correction. Huskers were not in the Big XII championship that year

They're not better than those two teams.

The conversation starts at #3.

This is basically where my head is at. 95 Nebraska is the best for what they did on the field. Probably followed by 19 LSU.

01 Miami is the most insanely talented team that was ever put together, but they played a soft schedule and didn’t really dominate. If you asked me to pick any team in the history of CFB for a single game, it’s them. However I’m not sure their actual work on the field ranks.

In all honesty, we don't yet know what the future brings for players on this LSU team...
we KNOW Burrow, Delpit, Chase, Stingley, Jefferson, will be there. Almost definite that Marshall, Moss and Fulton will be, too. Stevens, Chaisson and Divinity too.
LB's- not sure about Queen and others; but keep in mind that LSU LBs make the league. Nobody thought Deion Jones would be at the Pro Bowl, but he was.
Linemen- entirely possible. Clyde- same thing. Vincent- speed for days, he might blossom at the next level if he goes to the right team.

Then you get into conversations about guys like Flott, Emery, possibly Brennan, and that freshman safety.
You might look back and say oh shit, this guy was there and barely even saw the field...

This team is immensely talented. I'd say the defense is more talented than they performed; we had every reason to expect it was going to be a dominant force (like we saw against A&M, UGA, Oklahoma). And they were, in every game, when it was important that they be that way. They gave up a lot of yards and points when it was out of reach. Take away the Vandy garbage, Ole Miss 2nd half garbage, Arkansas 4th quarter garbage, the meaningless last drives for Texas, Bama and Auburn to shrink the margin... it was stout when needed.

There is no way to definitively conclude one way or another. Just being in the discussion with those two teams is how special this team is.
