head coach Mark Richt, choose LSU?
Why did quarterback Max Johnson, the son of two Florida State graduates and the nephew of former Georgia and Miami head coach Mark Richt, choose LSU?
Max is an early enrollee and will try to be the replacement for Jeauxy.

The Georgia 4A state championship game loomed in four days, and Brad explained different styles of throws for different routes.

he considered Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Wisconsin and LSU. He picked LSU, doing so long before the team reached the top seed in the College Football Playoff.

Johnson chose LSU because he felt comfortable there. He trusted coach Ed Orgeron’s vision, and he connected with offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger. He liked the atmosphere around campus. He enjoyed Louisiana. Johnson and his family believed he fit LSU’s system, and they liked the talent at the skill positions

He very well could beat out Brennan along with Parish and Finley.

Good that both he and Finley get an early start
I think Brennan takes the reigns next year and then it will be down to Finley, Johnson, Parish to take over after Brennan is gone.

Not sure a true frosh QB starter would be a great thing.
Damn near ruined J. Lee & I think he had a redshirt year.
Bo Nix had his struggles this year.
Would be ideal if MB takes the spot for 2 seasons while the kids learn.

What’s wild is that he committed before we got Brady right?

Did he have a Joe Moore award winning offensive line in front of him?

Max Johnson is going to try and come in swinging a big schlong and try to win the starting job...
Fricking sweet! I love it.

Max will fit in well with our offense.

Do we know how many of the award-winning line will be back next season?
Also, the speed of CFB>>>>>HS football. IMHO it would be better if these kids have more time to develop.

No, but our 08 line was actually pretty stout. 4/5 returning starters from the 07 team, which was a damn good offense. A couple of guys who were pretty decorated in Ciron and Herm. And the new starter was Barksdale who turned out to be good.
I trust the current playcalling to break in a new QB much more than what we had back then though.

Yes, please no quick-out passes for pick-sixes.

The Joe moore award didn’t exist in 2008. Also, I don’t remember us having major O-line issues. Lee just wasn’t ready for the big time. Doesn’t mean another RS freshman can’t be. But I also don’t see a true freshman jumping Brennan unless he’s a different level kind of player.

No, but Lee's problem wasn't pressure or protection whatsoever.

Not sure you should put a lot of money on that prediction.
Regardless there is no way in hell that Myles Brennan looses the starting position next year to anyone presently on the roster or soon to be on the roster. To make the statement you just posted proves you have no real knowledge of this game and no sense of reality. And certainly no connections within the LSU football program. Brennan will be the face of this team for the next two years. That is if he doesn’t go pro after this year.

The best shot for LSU to have another great season (11-1 or 12-0) is for Myles Brennan and the new O line to perform at their best.

I know his numbers aren't great but when he gets a whole off season to work with the 1s, it'll be a huge difference.
The Myles Brennan you saw so far has a cannon but the next year version will have cannon and be a good to great qb,
I'm extremely confident in its talent, his main issue is throwing with anticipation
the picks or almost picks we've seen were because he didn't throw the ball until he already saw the receiver break, you cant do that in the sec or any college game really.
That td pass to racey a few games back could have been intercepted, and the same route and play did get intercepted against vandy
