You have to be an utter moron to believe that these were good ideas. The only people Carter hurt with this stupidity were Americans.
edit: Typical...the drive-by downvote when you can't make an intelligent rebuttal to either this point or my previous one.

Carter himself is pro-life I believe but I agree his support of politicians that are pro-choice has always been troubling. I will say he has pleaded with the DNC to abandon abortion more than once.
Good man, bad president.
To the topic at hand:

But the facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral.
That is an eye of the beholder opinion at best and a purposeful dishonest misrepresentation at worst. That’s what he bases his call for Trump to step down on.
That I’ve seen, Trump has not lied about this situation. Exaggerated a “perfect call?” Sure but I haven’t heard anybody disprove or disagree with the contents of the transcript and the transcript didn’t have any coercion.
I’m all about ripping Trump where it’s merited but this is a dishonest take.

bravo
I love when pieces of shite who support pieces of shite whine about "slimeballs"
You are a joke and you are too stupid to realize it.

I doubt it. "Christian means Christ like". Are Southern Baptists Christ Like or are they using Christ as a means of control and power.

From a military standpoint, an army marches on its stomach. Remove the grain that is their staple to march and you reduce their ability fight.
Boycotting the Olympics reduces the biggest revenue producer to pay for it.
Not like the grain we sold to Russia could not be sold elsewhere.
Not like we would have gotten better results from Russian judges in Russia back then. I am old enough to remember those games and the Russian / German steroid issues back then.
PS, I did not down vote you if that edited comment was aimed at me.

That is part of the platform of his party
Personally abortion is a emotional issue with less impact than the bang politicians get for the diversion it creates.
Highest number of abortions were in the 80's under the presidencies of Reagan and Bush.
POTUS issues
Foreign Policy
Global Ambassador
Military Policy
Abortion is a red herring used by both D and R to divert from harder and more important issues. As for the current POTUS it would not shock me in the least if he has been involved personally in his past.
Smarter Americans should see it for the diversion it is. One of my biggest pet peeves with the Republican Party is raising money for generations on promises to eliminate the "death tax" yet even with control of the POTUS, House, Senate, and SCOTUS they have yet to fulfill the promise. We lost the family farm during Reagan and I have not forgotten what politicians promise VS what they deliver.

I'd say the rank and file are Christ-like.
Go up the food chain and it depends, there is a current struggle between those who would like it to go more "moderate" (Russell Moore and JD Greear) and those who would keep it conservative (Jack Graham and Robert Jeffress).

It had only been legalized the decade before.
Plus we didn't have the advances in medical technology that improved sonogram images of the growing baby, as well as those which allowed doctors to shrink the period between conception and viability. Those two right there have done quite a bit to change people's opinion on abortion.
Not to mention people who were in the industry that switched sides and exposed it. Even Norma McCorvey, the Roe from Roe v. Wade, changed sides.

He previously was pro-choice but, like a lot of others, switched sides along the way. If he did pressure someone to get an abortion and/or paid for one, we can only hope he repents and seeks forgiveness.

No. I wont follow Carter as a beacon of morality his political ineptitude leads to an evil end.

Gestation is 9 months, not 9 years.
Roe V Wade = 1973
Bush Sr leave office = 1993
1993 - 1973 = 20 years
More importantly, look at this graph...
We are now roughly at Roe V Wade levels as of 2014, not sure how much more it has dropped since but more importantly is viewed in per capita numbers the drop is even more pronounced.
~ 200 million = US population in 1970
~ 330 million = US population in 2020 (project but not confirmed by census)
(V2 - V1) / |V1| x 100 = % change
~65% from 1970 to 2020 yet
We are near the start of legalized abortions but have added 130 million people to the USA.

:kige:
However, forgiveness is only valid if it is true. Trump is a narcissist and the biggest weakness of the disease is the ability to see outside yourself. Not just Trump, but pretty sure most politicians say one thing then live a life in opposition to what they say. Healing of self goes a long way in the ability to heal others.

USNA graduate, not exactly an easy 4 years of higher education
(he finished in the Top 5% to Top 10% of his class and graduated with distinction)
Carter was admitted to Georgia Tech for mathematic classes
Served on subs, nuclear knowledge required
Nobel Peace prize winner
Stephen Hawking was clocked with an IQ of what 160, Carters was 153
Not sure how you arrive at this conclusion?

Thank you for the graph, it actually proves my point.
For the first decade after abortion was legalized, abortions went up because it was now legal; those who were afraid of being arrested no longer had to fear and those who couldn't travel to where it was legal now could have them in their states.
Also the pro-life movement wasn't as large as now, the Catholics were about the only major group opposing it. (During the early 1970's the Southern Baptists were pro-choice, passing two resolutions -- one before and one after Roe -- supporting abortion for reasons Democrats supported it then and now. Not until 1980 -- when the denomination was going through a battle over conservative vs. liberal theology -- did they reverse their position and take the pro-life stance they currently hold.)
Once the pro-life movement grew, not only did you start hearing more people oppose abortion, words were met with actions via the start of faith-based pregnancy resource centers. When those centers were able to obtain sonograms -- even older ones without the modern technology -- it started changing pregnant mothers' views.
Add to that more technological advances in medicine related to prenatal care, and you have the drop to below the pre-Roe numbers (when it was only legal in certain states).
