Although I have a ton of trepidation in watching TROS, I have to see this to the end. I'm one of those people that has been with the mythology from the beginning.

When Star Wars was released, I was about to begin the 7th grade which means as an boy in 1977 I was the perfect age to see this.

Who all has been with this since the beginning?

I wished younger people could have experienced the awe that we also had the privilege to experience when this space opera/fairy tale began...

Well...you caught me with a technicality...they were released before the prequels...However, they came out 20 years after the originals were shown and there were on VCR tapes..Did you know anything about Star Wars before you watched these remastered films? The reason I asked is every time I saw a new Star Wars Film it was literally the first time ever seen with the public so the reaction is more raw...

I was born in 1985, so I missed the Original Trilogy. However, I have seen every Star Wars movie in theatres since the Special Edition was released in 1997.

The first time I ever saw Star Wars was on the big screen when they released the remastered version in 97. My mom bought tickets and told me how much I was going to like the movie. It blew me away and I was instantly hooked. Such a great memory. I actually got us tickets to go see this last one when I get back home for Christmas as a fitting end to the saga. Seeing it all these years later just as I first saw it.

I can sorta say yes to this. I was born in '76, so too young to see the original in its first run.

I did, however, see Empire in its first run, and then saw the newly branded A New Hope when it was re-released in theaters in 1981. Then saw the rest (including the special editions) when they were first run in theaters.

I was 7 when the first one came out and have seen all of them in the theater. My 6 yr old daughter had really been getting into star wars and we have been watching them leading up to the release. We have skipped I-III and I'm now debating this new one.

I can remember sitting at the kitchen table with my family and my dad looking at the paper for a movie to go see. I remember seeing the add for the original Star Wars on the page. I desperately wanted to see it, I was five. My mom asked my dad what the story was about, and I can remember clear as day my dad saying, "it's a good guy/bad guy thing in space."

We went to see it that night.

Side note- first date in elementary school was to Empire Strikes Back, a girl asked me!

I've never seen a single Star Wars movie in theaters or otherwise. Does that count?

Grew up watching the vhs tapes and loved them so I saw all the remastered ones in the theater in the 90s and then have seen each one after that in theaters so that’s as close as I can get because I’m not 60.

Saw Empire but I was too young to see the original Star Wars.

I still remember being sooooo excited to see Return of the Jedi. Desperately wanted to see it on opening day. As mom drove us to school that morning we drove by the theatre and the line was already down the street and around the block. Later at school a rumor circulated that it had sold out for the weekend.

I was devastated. I thought I would never get to see it. When I got home there was a huge surprise. My dad had gotten up very early and gotten tickets. He was one of the people standing in that giant line we saw on the way to school. What a surprise and one of my favorite childhood memories.

Robert E Lee on Plank Rd...not the first showing, but the first week of release. After that I must've seen it at the theater 20 times. I loved it
