Dude..... they will, you will have to have a certain look just to pass by. Frickin hipsters ruin perfectly respectable places and dives like Bud Rips in Bywater and from what I understand the plans to resurrect the old Nick's bar on Tulane.

Stayed there last year. The actual hotel part needs an upgrade badly.

They better not change the bar and outside much, if at all.

The place is great but needs an update.

I do think the bar could use some new life.

If you look at Frenchman Hotel, his other property, it fits the area well and isn't hipster to the hilt.

I have faith the place will be fine.

If they import hipsters at that place it will destroy their current clientele

I used to frequent the Columns 20 years ago before kids but please tell me that place is not full of hipsters now.

maybe they can finally get rid of the creepy fricker that stands at the end of the bar and stares at everyone.

There was a regular there whose job in life was to hold up that end of the bar and eat the hot dogs during the day and Totino's Pizza at night

You went there to drink and get faced....you need not call your liquor by its formal name, oh yeah....and Dixie on draught

Whatever happened to Big Mike? I used to live in an apartment 2 blocks away from the Columns. I miss those days. Big Mike was the best.

I always forget that the Columns Hotel is an actual hotel, even though it’s right there in the name.

I think of it exclusively as a bar.. and a great bar, at that.. i’d say it’s a Top Three bar in New Orleans; just my personal opinion, your mileage may vary... I spent a lot of time there in the late 90s/early 2000s, mostly on Wednesday or Thursday nights, after hitting up Superior Grill across the street... Was there for drinks as recently as about 18 months ago, and still really enjoyed the place- but again, totally escaped me that it was a hotel.
