Is it fair to say that if any current LSU commit...

Because recruiting isn’t always about team beat x so player y is crazy for going to team x.
I don’t know why so many on this board do not understand that.

Recruiting is complicated.

Location. Some kids want to be close to home.

Depth chart. Kids want to play early.

There are a ton of reasons why kids pick a school and reasons why they may flip.

And no $$$$ is the excuse all schools use when they lose a recruit.

There is a lot more that goes into choosing a school than whether one team is better than another or which one can win a NC or conference championship.
A lot of it may not even be football related. May like the campus and curriculum of a particular school better and just feel more at home or comfortable there with the people and surroundings. It's not like what school you go to is going to make a difference in whether you get drafted or where in the draft you go. NFL can find and evaluate you at Vanderbilt just as easily as at Alabama if that is a concern. People and posters seem to think being on the best team is the primary concern of recruits and I would think it plays a smaller part than they think.

Everyone defines "fit" deifferently. I do think it's weird how someone could go through the entire cycle and then get swayed in the final week to go against what they felt was best fit for them.

I'm sure competitors are telling them things like:
-This year's success was mainly due to Burrow being a once in a generation talent
-Brady will be leaving LSU
-You won't get as many touches
-I wouldn't be surprised if some schools will infer that they can smoke weed without getting suspended

To be honest we’re not really gonna reap the benefits of our accomplishments this season until next recruiting class..will it help us close this recruiting class out with a bang? Sure but next year we can truly expect to see a major boom off this years success!

Think of it this way....

The speed limit is 70. Everyone is going 80. A few are going 120.

The ones who go 120 are going to eventually get pulled over and get a ticket (probation).

Too many of you look at recruiting through the narrow lens of the team's accomplishments.

There are multiple reasons why recruits choose to go to a school. Believe it or not, there are recruits out there that couldn't give two shits about winning championships. I'm sure a lot of them think, yeah a championship would be nice but I have other things I value more.

Recruits can be motivated by any of the following (not an exhaustive list):

1. Playing time, particularly playing early
2. Program prestige
3. Relationships with coaches
4. NFL potential
5. Getting their arse kissed
6. Playing for a contender
7. Who can supply the biggest bag
8. Proximity to home
9. Who their parents like the most

For most it's a combination of the above, but not everyone has the same #1 priority. The coaches know this, they find out what makes the player tick and do their best to address it. Sometimes even the best programs can't address a players #1 need. Once people come to grips to this you'll be a lot better off.

Recruiting is a dirty game, just have to hope your team has tricks up their sleeves to fight the game, LOL
