Need your review please. Thinking of buying one. DR5000 electric. Any info is appreciated.

Much thanks!

IIRC Napoleon, our resident appliance expert said that this is the brand with the least repairs.

I looked at them recently and they look like the ones my parents had in the 60's. No electronics to speak of and built like a tank.

Pricey though but I will be buying these for our next house shortly.

I have two of the same electric model: ADE3SRGS173TW01

They both dry like a muthafricka when set on “High”.

Thanks, Napoleon!

Great and thanks. Looking for a good, long-lasting clothes heater.

Napoleon mentioned they are solid. As soon as my 3 year old LG front loaders go out (which shouldn't be long) that's what I'll be buying. I don't give a shite if my washer and dryer look fancy.

I don't have the dryer but I have a SQ washer and it's awesome. I assume the dryer is just as good.

I purchased a new set this past September and they are great. Make sure you get the new models, the ones from a couple of years ago have problems. Check out the internet. Good replacement to my 2004 set.

My speed queen is literally the only item I cleaned and kept when my house flooded. As soon as my dryer goes out I am replacing with a speed queen.

I used to work for a large production home builder, unbelievable the amount of women that wanted a “pretty” washer. I never understood the desire to over pay for something you keep in a room that the door is closed 99% of the time.

I was fine with it because they are more expensive which meant more markup.

The washers definitely did. They tried to make something that was both fast and energy-efficient and it worked, well, about as well as anything else designed to be energy-efficient.

For a while at least, they were selling both the old-style washer and the new-style one. The good (old) washer has an agitator that can rotate independently of the drum.

I have the R7 in both the washer and dryer. They are awesome. You won’t go wrong with them.

We have the washer. No frills but it’s bulletproof and cleans well. I’d think the dryer is similar.

I have one, not sure if it's that model though. My mother in laws one just went out after 27 years. She bought a new Speed Queen to replace it. They come with a 10 year warranty if you but them from Landeche in Lockport. Not sure about other dealers.
