Just got a new system for the living room. Nothing fancy, just a soundbar with a 8" sub and rear speakers. Got a nice deal on a Nakamichi Soundwafe system on cyber Monday. Replaced an older wired system that i got tired of hearing the fans running on it and it recently having trouble coming on when the tv was turned on.

My go to for surround sound is The Phantom Menace pod racing scene.

Any other suggestions for testing out the range of this sound system?

Master and Commander.

Any of the battle scenes, in particular the last one, are great for a system test.

The Matrix...lobby shoot out scene.

Jurassic Park....First T-Rex scene. Mostly because you will be able to test the clarity of your system when he eats the goats, when the kids talk and the low end when the T-Rex really starts losing his shite. The rain is a big plus as well.

Interstellar. I feel like it was made to really be enjoyed with a proper surround sound setup

The Hurt Locker...very little music but lots of ambient sound.

My personal favorite is Ronin. Its just DD 5.1 but I love the gunfire and engine roars.

You don't have surround sound.

The correct answer is Ready Player One. The big race at the beginning.
